DRINK ROSATO: THE ITALIAN ROSÉ – WINE BUYING GUIDE

When buying Italian wines, youd want to settle for the best. Of course, the country is known to produce the worlds most delicious varieties which you can find online, so anything you choose will definitely delight. What makes the experience better is the right pairing of food.

For those who love a glass of light-bodied red like the Bardolino, Montepulciano and Valpolicella, pair it with chicken or light beef dishes, or tomato or meat-based pasta. Should you go for medium-bodied red wines like the Merlot, Chianti or Nebbiolo, most meat dishes will be great accompaniments, not forgetting cheeses made from sheeps milk. Full-bodied reds like the Amarone and Brunello di Montalcino go perfectly well with braised vegetables, roasts, pate as well as hard, aged cheeses.

White wine lovers can choose between sparking or dry wines. Sparkling varieties like the Moscato perfect as an aperitif or with Hors D’oeuvres, while dry white wines such as the Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio pair well with seafood, pasta, risotto and creamy cheeses.

Wineshopit: Since 1999 Your Online Wine Shop To Buy The Best Italian Wines

Ours is a wine shop specializing in online wine sales. It was born in November 1999 and was the first online wine shop in Italy to sell wine on the Web, a real point of reference in the world for all lovers of Italian wine.

After all Italy represents the best of the world wine scene and can boast a centuries-old tradition as well as a universal reputation. This is why we decided to focus on 100% Italian wines. Specifically, our online wine shop aims to raise awareness of the niche we like to define “the world of wine artisans”: small, carefully selected producers who pay great attention to their territory and their products, giving life to real enological pearls. A world little known but that hides wines with a truly incredible value for money. Thanks to the relationships we have developed over the years with these wineries, we are able to guarantee the best prices: many wines are sold exclusively and at cellar price, namely the same price you would pay at the producer’s cellar. We also sell only products we stock in our warehouse. In this way we can immediately respond to your requests, shipping your favorite wines very quickly.

But don’t forget your friends. If you intend to make a wine gift to a special person or on behalf of your company, in our online wine shop you will find everything you need: wines with customizable labels, gift boxes, magnums in wooden boxes, rare wines and custom greeting cards.

The Worlds Best Places To Buy Italian Wine: Italy And One Tiny Store In Dc

Its official: One of the worlds best wine stores especially if you are a fan of Italian wines is right here in Washington. And you may have overlooked it.

A. Litteri has been selling Italian foods to Washingtonians for 90 years. The stores current location in the old warehouse district of Northeast D.C. is just a block from the uber-hip Union Market, but its a time capsule to those family-owned neighborhood stores where regular customers are greeted like friends as they sample an aged Gorgonzola or order a cold-cut sandwich that would make Sinatra sing with joy.

And theres wine, of course. Enter A. Litteri through a door that could be easily overlooked if the wall around it were not painted with the colors of the Italian flag, and the first thing you encounter is the wine closeout section. These are cheap bottles, including a $5 pink Catawba from Indiana and several other inexpensive wines a vintage or three beyond their prime. You might find something cheap and interesting here, but turn right and head to the main wine section. There, among claustrophobic shelves reaching to the ceiling and seemingly on the verge of collapsing on you, is one amazing wine selection.

This is the domain of Ken Nankervis, who took over A. Litteris wine program in 2012 and gradually transformed a selection based on closeouts to one of the best especially for Italian wines in the city.

Is Barolo A Dense Wine

No, its not. People often assume that Barolo is going to be a heavy wine because of its reputation for longevity, but thats not the case. Barolo is often lighter in color than, say, a Napa Cabernet, and while it is structured by pronounced acidity and tannin, it lacks the sense of heaviness that many of the most famous wines in the world possess.

Italian Wine Shop In South Africa

Everyday Wines – A Polished Italian Pinot Grigio

Welcome to Vino.co.za, we’re an Italian family-run online store serving a small but passionate base of Italian wine lovers here in South Africa. As you can imagine, working across continents to deliver consistently good wine products and services comes with its challenges. Fortunately, we have longstanding experience in wine trading that dates back decades, dealing with everyone from private individuals to major retailers.

Throughout the years, we’ve prided ourselves in maintaining good relations with wine suppliers, the very ones responsible for producing our cherished Italian wine offering. In fact, the first wine we ever imported was a Renzo MasiChianti back in 1993, a wine and producer we still offer and support today.

Since then the local winescape has changed and we’re glad to say that Italian wine is no longer the obscure and esoteric consumable it once was among South African wine enthusiasts. Now iconic Italian wines like Barolo, Pinot Grigio and Prosecco are abundant and available to all. We like to think we played a small role in achieving that.

Anyway… HERE’s to a long life, good food, family, friends and, of course, excellentItalian wine!

How Do You Serve Barolo

Barolo is best served in a large-bowled wine glass at slightly cooler than room temperature. This means that if you dont store your wine in a wine fridge, its a good idea to put the bottle of Barolo in a standard kitchen refrigerator for 15 minutes or so, which will add a slight chill to the wine and make the fruit seem much fresher and more vibrant.

Denominazione Di Origine Controllata E Garantita

Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin is the superior category and wines in this category are subjected to a scrupulous analysis before they can be bottled. There are currently about 74 Italian DOCG wines, including Barolo, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Amarone della Valpolicella, and Prosecco Superiore.

How To Distinguish A Prized Wine Online

A better way to buy Italian wine

Most of our Italian wines obtained prizes and awards. High quality Italian wine requires multiple vinifications and slow manufacturing times.

At the base of the remarkable and sought-after wines, there is patience as it is often necessary to renounce the vintage when the grapes are not up to expectations. The high quality italian wines have been subjected to long maceration times and left to rest in fine wooden barrels. In addition, once bottled, the wine is left to rest before being marketed. These processes can usually take several years.

Donato Giangirolami is one such winemaker.

His winery is nestled in the charming countryside a little to the south of Rome.

The family inherited a great tradition of wine making and an exceptional terroir which they are now combining with modern technologies and innovations. The results have been outstanding…

Where to Stay

If you would like to visit this winery and the nearby region then I’d suggest you stay in nearby Rome. These are a few really excellent hotels in Rome well worth considering.About the Estate

The family farm is made up of three vineyards, two you will find near Castelli Romani and the other is just south of Aprilia.
