Costco® is the number one wine retailer in the U.S. and just one look at their low wine prices should tell you why!
One of the main reasons is simply the tremendously slim margin Costco takes thanks to their membership model. Basically they make their money on membership fees allowing them to keep product prices, including those on wine , very low. Their selection isn’t the broadest but they do tend to bring in some very nice wines from all over the world , especially in the under $20 price point.
While most of the Costco wines are available elsewhere keep your eyes out for deals on lesser-known labels as well. Inventory of wines will vary by market and even by store within a market so at times you can find some low production wines available in an individual store. Also, in some states you don’t even need a membership to shop the store.

Wine Etc: Other Regions In France Deserve Recognition For Interesting Wines Value
Bordeaux is steeped in history. For centuries wine has been made here by families who have passed down knowledge and inspiration. Today it is not uncommon to hear of third or fourth generations producing wine from the same vineyards in southwestern France as their ancestors.
While Medoc often gets the attention, there are other regions equally deserving of recognition. These include Graves, Pessac-Leognan, Sauternes and Barsac regions located south of the city of Bordeaux and along the Garonne River. There are 16 Grand Crus Classes in Graves and 27 in Sauternes-Barsac. It is not without its stars Chateau Haut-Brion is the only first growth in the Pessac-Leognan classification.
The Perromat family of Chateau de Cerons has been producing wine in Graves and Sauternes regions for nine generations. Marie-Helene Yung-Theron of Chateau de Portets is living in the house where she was born and she has fond memories of her grandfather in the vineyard. Three generations of the Perrin family are working together at Chateau Carbonnieux. The family stories here are endless, as we discovered after tasting a series of wines from these regions.
Graves is overshadowed by the iconic wines of the Medoc, but they represent better values.
Pessac-Leognan is actually a communal appellation of Graves and as such producers can label their wines as either. Eighty percent of the wines from its 10 villages are red.

Founded by Joseph Carr, the name Josh comes from his father, Joseph Josh Carr.
Josh was said to have instilled the importance of family and hard work into his kids from a young age which clearly had an impact on his sons work ethic in launching Josh Cellars.
The Chief Winemaker for Josh Cellars is Wayne Donaldson and he took over winemaking there in 2009.
In 2021, Josh Cellars was named as the American Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast magazine.

Which Wine Regions Are In California
From North to South, the main regions are Mendocino, Lake, Napa Valley, Sonoma, Livermore Valley, Lodi, Sierra Foothills, Santa Cruz Mountains, Monterey, Paso Robles and Santa Barbara.

The Californian wine country is in the North San Francisco Bay area, with over 800 wineries located all along this scenic route. The Bay area encompasses some of the world’s most famous wine regions, including Napa Valley and Sonoma.
The success of these famous regions within the Bay area is largely to do with the sound soil composition and ideal climatic conditions. Each region is fortunate to have a wide range of temperatures and soil types, allowing the brilliant variety of grapes to thrive here.
