Cabernet Sauvignon from the North Coast of California including Napa, Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Counties. The wine is aged with 25% new French oak.

Today we check out our third recommended Cab in the Josh Cellars line-up. So far we’ve enjoyed and recommended the base Josh Cellars Cabernet California bottling and the Josh Cellars Reserve Paso Robles Cabernet. Up next comes another bottle in their Reserve line, the North Coast Cab.

Fruit-forward and balanced, our North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from areas throughout the North Coast AVA, including Sonoma and Lake counties. The wine is bursting with aromas of dark cherries and roasted walnuts while the palate shows flavors of dark cherries, toasted hazelnuts, mocha, and a touch of vanilla leading into a long finish. The tannins are round and smooth.

The 2019 Josh Cellars Reserve North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon begins similar to the other Josh Cabs with some really well done oak influence on the nose. It also features dark fruit, baking spice and some graphite and cedar notes too.
Josh Cabernet Sauvignon Review: What Are The Flavors
Josh Cabernet Sauvignon is entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
On the nose black cherry and black are the most prominent with hints of cinnamon, and oak.
On the palate black cherry, blackberry, toasted hazelnut with hints of vanilla and toasted oak.
Its a well balanced full body wine, with soft tannins and a long finish.

Admittedly, there are rather contrasting opinions when it comes to brand wine. Brand wine most often is categorized as a commodity wine.

2019 Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon California This wine is made with grapes drawn from vineyards across California and pours inky purple, almost black. Bold, fruity notes of plum, blackberry, and black cherry show up on the nose and again on the palate, where they are joined by cinnamon and a touch of vanilla. Light tannins follow for a gently dry, medium length finish. This is not a complex wine, but it is enjoyable and quite the value. B+ / $17
2018 Josh Cellars Reserve Cabernet SauvignonNorth Coast As with the above wine, this North Coast bottling pours almost black with a dark purple halo. This is a big, juicy California cabernet with both the nose and palate showing big plum, black cherry, and blackcurrant notes. The palate also introduces some nutmeg and vanilla for a rather long, enjoyable finish. Medium acidity and gentle tannins add some structure and help heighten the experience.
