Right To The Name Champagne
The Champagne winemaking community, under the auspices of the Comité Interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne , has developed a comprehensive set of rules and regulations for all wine produced in the region to protect its economic interests. They include codification of the most suitable growing places the most suitable grape types and a lengthy set of requirements specifying most aspects of viticulture. This includes pruning, vineyard yield, the degree of pressing, and the time that wine must remain on its lees before bottling. It can also limit the release of Champagne to market to maintain prices. Only when a wine meets these requirements may it be labelled Champagne. The rules agreed upon by the CIVC are submitted for the final approval of the Institut national de l’origine et de la qualité .

As a general rule, grapes used must be the white Chardonnay, or the dark-skinned “red wine grapes” Pinot noir or Pinot Meunier, which, due to the gentle pressing of the grapes and absence of skin contact during fermentation, usually also yield a white base wine. Most Champagnes, including Rosé wines, are made from a blend of all three grapes, although blanc de blancs Champagnes are made from 100% Chardonnay and blanc de noirs Champagnes are made solely from Pinot noir, Pinot Meunier or a mix of the two.

Finding Small Bottles
Most Champagne manufacturers make half-bottles of Champagne.
Splits and cans are a bit tricker, but you can find them. Here are a few brands.
Pommery POP makes little golden splits of Champagne that are a lot of fun.
One of the things that makes these bottles unique is that they contain vintage Champagnes instead of the non-vintage wines that most manufacturers put into small bottles. Pommery POP also makes a non-vintage blend Champagne that comes in a cute cobalt blue bottle, and a rosé in a pretty pink and silver bottle.
Perrier-Jouët NV Grand Brut Champagne comes in splits.
This is a well-rated, consistently good Champagne from one of Frances most respected brands.
Another of Frances respected winemakers offers splits.
You can get Moët ET Chandon NV Imperial Champagne for about $10 a bottle.
Francis Coppola offers Sofia Blanc de Blancs in a hot pink can that comes in four packs.
Tiny bottles filled with tiny bubbles are a fun way to have your Champagne. Talk with your local wine shop and find out which Champagne options are available in smaller-sized bottles.

Although It Goes Well With Food An Entire Bottle Can Be Too Much For Two People So Think Smaller
Virtually every wine shop offers small sizes of Prosecco, but I think a half-bottle of good Champagne is the perfect way to woo a Valentine
The Champenois argue that a magnum is the perfect size bottle for Champagne. Apparently, it ages better than any other format, although you will require plenty of willing friends to share it with. Winston Churchill is credited with the quip that a magnum is the perfect size for two gentlemen to enjoy over lunch provided one isnt drinking.
However, with Valentines Day coming up, this might be a time to do things by half. A half-bottle of sparkling wine is the ideal way for two people to begin romantic proceedings. Each gets a decent glass of fizz plus a small refill, before moving on to a still red or white. Although Champagne goes very well with food, an entire bottle of sparkling wine can be too much for two people, even if consumed over a meal. You can buy various stoppers to keep the fizz in fizz, although most good quality sparkling wine will last overnight without any difficulty. But they will lose some of their effervescence.
With just two of us sharing wine over dinner, I find myself looking out for half-bottles of all kinds of wine, still white wines in particular, to enjoy before moving on to a full bottle of red. The alternative is to save half a full bottle for the following evening.

Good Quality Blue Led’s A Bit Dim
This is a nice unit of good quality and good features. The only feedback I have is the LED blue lights look cool but are a bit dark since the inside of the unit is black as well. Would be nice to either have a white light option or a brightness adjustment on the blue LED lights as it can be hard to see the product inside.
Saving An Open Bottle Of Champagne
Cheers to yet another reason to drink bubbly all the time! Did you know you can actually keep an opened bottle of Champagne or sparkling wine fresh and fizzy for up to FIVE days! The misconception that you have to finish the bottle in one sitting or it will lose its fizz is one of the main reasons why people hesitate to open Champagne and sparkling wine. Here’s our 3 tricks to preserving those bubbles!
The first and most important tip is using a proper stopper. Just by using a Champagne-specific stopper you can keep the open bottle fresh for days. Liberating news isnt it? Discovering the bouchon champagne stopper has been a game changer for me and so many of my friends. If you’re a bubbles lover, this is a must have! Shop some of my favorite stoppers here: Twine rose gold stopper, Crate& Barrel chrome stopper, Williams-Sonoma stainless steel stopper.
Secondly, keep the bottle cold. Storing your opened bottle of champagne or sparkling wine in the refrigerator helps the pressure remain low, therefore preserving the bubbles longer. It will also to help maintain its freshness when you store it for more than a few days.
Lastly, if you’re not planning on finishing a bottle in one sitting, you may want to open something that you have recently purchased. Bottles that you’ve been storing or aging for some time are not ideal to save for several days once opened. After all, most bubbles are meant to be enjoyed soon after they leave the winery.

How Do You Open Mini Champagne Bottles
There are two different types of closures on a mini Champagne bottle. The first is a plastic capto open, twist the cap like a screw top until it pops off. For a cork top, open as you would a regular-sized Champagne bottle. Loosen the cage, place a napkin over to prevent spills, and rotate the bottle six times while securely holding the cork.
