Alternative Wines To Try If You Like Stella Rosa
Stella Rosa is a fan favorite among Italian wines, and with good reason. It comes in many fun flavors and styles, ranging from semi-sparkling wines to non-alcoholic and single-serving sizes.
With red and white varieties and multiple flavors, there’s something to suit every taste. Stella Rosa Wines’ website lists the pricing, food pairing recommendations, and an overview of the history and flavor of each specific drink.
However, in this article, I’ll discuss some variations if you’re looking to taste a similar experience without committing to this specific brand. Or maybe you just want to learn about some new wines to try. That said, I hope you’re excited to dive into the first option!
This wine ranks as number one on this anticipated list because of its fresh, fragrant taste. Originating from Italy, Risata Moscato D’Asti is a frizzante wine with vibrant flavors and aromas of:
- Stone fruit
Risata is an experience that you come back for. The taste is concentrated and flavorful, not overly rich or heavy, but sweet and balanced. Risata is one of the most popular wines in Italy, created from Moscato grapes that give delicious, highlighting notes.
Another Italian wine Lambrusco often gets a bad rep because of its sweetness. However, this wine has ten different varieties, all with different flavors and textures. The majority has notes of:
- Dried fruit
Stella Rosa Is Abv On
Millennials are trending toward low-alcohol options for a variety of reasons. Those looking for a lighter wine that has a bit more oopmh than 0.0 percent ABV should look to Stella Rosa. The wines generally clock in at a happy-buzz 5.5 ABV. Some get closer to the 10 percent ABV mark, but in general, Stella Rosa wines are specifically made to retain a bit more sugar and produce a bit less alcohol than their boozier counterparts.
How Many Glasses Of Wine Will Get You Drunk
To reach a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08, just a couple of glasses will do the trick. The standard is that, within an hour, men need three glasses of an average ABV wine to get drunk, while women only need two. After reaching this limit, youll likely be legally drunk.

Stella Rosa Black Review
Stella Rosa Black comes from Stella Rosa Wines, with grapes from the Piedmont region of Northern Italy.
Billed as a low-alcohol grape wine specialty with natural flavors, this semi-sparkling wine comes with a twist-top and a calorie label on the back.
And if youre interested in knowing, a 5oz. pour contains 110 calories!
Its ingredients included: wine, water, grape must, and natural flavors, among other things like grape skin extract for color.
Also noticeable, the ingredients say no added juice.
I took this to mean that the natural flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry in this wine, dont come from adding in those juices.
The back label does say combined with natural flavors of those fruits, so they must introduce them to the winemaking process somehow.

Stella Rosa The Star Was Born
To create the Stella Rosa wines, our family chose the region of Asti, a province in Piedmont, Italy, as the source for its aromatic grapes, which have become the hallmark for the Stella Rosa style of wines.
The area of Asti has particular significance to our family, as it is the birthplace of our family matriarch, Maddalena Riboli.
Our first Stella Rosa wine was Moscato DAsti, which has become a flagship of this line.
Soon after, Stella Rosa Rosso was created the brands first semi-sweet, semi-sparkling red wine blend, and first wine of its kind to be brought to America from Asti. The rapid phenomenal successes of these two wines began the lineage of Stella Rosa, which now boasts over 20 distinctive flavors.
Muscadet De Svre Et Maine Sur Lie Chteau Du Clray
This wine is from one of the oldest estates in the heart of the Nantes vineyard region. Planted on clay and sandy soils over granite and schist bedrock, the vines here transport a minerality and a touch of richness to the liquid. On the nose, youll find citrus and apple fruit, along with notes of lime blossom and mint. A delicious light white.
Weve chosen this wine due to the grape used in its production. Grapes such as Muscadet, Pinot Grigio, Albariño, Torrontes and Piquepoul produce dry and light white wines. These wines will have fewer calories than the likes of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Viognier. Be sure to always check the ABV you can often find higher ABV wines made using Albariño, Torrontes or Muscadet.

Review: Stella Rosa Golden Honey Peach
Heres another ultra-sweet offering from Stella Rosa , tipping the scales at a whopping 5% abv. As the name implies, honey and peaches are the operating flavors in the mix here, though its the peach essence that makes the broadest impact making it come across as not terribly different from the standard Stella Rosa Peach flavor. Sure enough, the wine is flavored not with honey but with standard sugar, making for a rather one-note finish, though the extreme level of carbonation does at least cut through some of the cloying character.
Stella Rosa Platinum French Vanilla
French vanilla isnt just for coffee. Stella Rosa Platinum French Vanilla uses vanilla mixed with green apple and elderflower to recreate the french vanilla flavor.
You can drink this semi-sweet white wine with cheddar, shrimp fajitas, and cinnamon coffee cake. If you want to get creative with this already innovative wine, try mixing some Irish cream liqueur to add a splash of rich coffee flavor.
As a gold medalist of the Monterey Wine Competition, this wine is more than experimental. Its a creative new adaptation of classic french vanilla.

Is Stella Rosa Real Wine
The wine company based in the shadow of Dodger Stadium is called the Riboli family, and it is an Italian import. Youve probably heard of it, even if you havent tasted it. StellaRosa is one of the best-selling wines in America, and its also the most expensive. Its the kind of wine that makes you want to go out and buy a bottle, but you dont have the cash to do so.
Thats because the price tag is so high that you cant afford to buy it in bulk. You have to order it at the store, which means youre paying a lot more for the wine than you would at a restaurant or a bar, where you might be able to get it for a fraction of its retail price.
And thats not even taking into account the cost of shipping it to your home, or the time and effort it takes to prepare it and store it, all of which can add up to a big chunk of your wine budget. Well, theres a few ways. The first is to make your own wine at home.

Stella Rosa Creates A Bridge Between Wine Worlds
Stella Rosa wines answer a pretty common and unfairly maligned call for sweeter, spritzier wines, but they do so without resorting to flagrant sugar-bombing or two-dimensionality. Thanks to its provenance in a four-generation Italian winemaking family, with vineyards in real California wine country like Napa and Paso Robles, sourcing and production standards are higher than average, allowing Stella Rosa to bridge the gap between the bubbly feel of luxury and actual economic accessibility, i.e., the impossible dream most of us chase on a Friday or Saturday night.

What Is Sweet Wine
What Is Sweet Wine? When we make wine, yeast ferments the natural sugars in the grapes into alcohol. Any remaining sugar in the wine after the yeast does its work is called residual sugar. If a wine has more than 30 grams of residual sugar per liter, its classified as a sweet wine. Winemakers use a variety of techniques to make sweet wine. Some are rare, like letting grapes get infected with a specific fungus called noble rot or picking the grapes after they have frozen on the vines. However, most sweet wines are made by picking the grapes later in the season when theyre very ripe, which is when they have the most sugar.
Fitvine Wine Cabernet Sauvignon
Unsurprisingly, FitVine is a brand with a wide range of low-calorie wine options. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is a great choice for a low-calorie red wine because its a full-bodied and richly flavored wine without all the added sugar. Its also low in sulfates, which can be very helpful if you have a wine allergy. Best of all, its still 12%-14% ABV, which is a good wine alcohol content, especially for a low-calorie option. This is definitely a red wine worth trying.

Stella Rosa Wines Are More Than Sweet
Granted, the Ribolis were answering a call for sweeter, friskier wines when they created the Stella Rosa lineup, but just because theres sugar there doesnt mean there arent other flavors. Among some of the more poetically descriptive tasting notes youll find about any of the Stella Rosa lineup: brisk lime spritz, crème de cassis, chalk, peach pie crust, raspberry Pez, rose petals, and blackberry Italian soda.
The original Stella Rosa was a half-sweet, half-sparkling Moscato dAsti, followed by the Stella Rosa Rosso red, but over the years, the Riboli family has put together a rainbow of Stella Rosa wines with a variety of styles and flavors . Theres even an award-winning Brachetto dAcqui from its full-sparkling Imperiale lineup. No word on where the rainbow ends.
