Region: France | ABV: 12.5% | Tasting Notes: Floral, Citrus, Peach

Brown calls this wine produced by the Southern Rhônes famed Perrin family one of the best wine values of the wine world.

A blend of syrah, grenache, and cinsault, its a consistent gem thats 100 percent crushable, she says, with a red-fruit palate and touches of citrus, peach flesh, and white flowers.

It’s a perfect match poolside with friends, for those regular Tuesday nights with leftover Chinese food, or while simply Netflix and chilling, folding laundry. Nadine Brown, wine consultant and former wine director of Charlie Palmer Steak in DC

Best Red: Pour Haus Cabernet Sauvignon

Courtesy of Minibar

Region: California | ABV: 13% | Tasting Notes: Red fruits, Spice, Rhubarb

Cabernet Sauvignon, the head honcho of red wine grapes, doesnt always translate well into a box, but the clever folks behind Pour Haus have figured it out. This California blend is bold and mildly acidic with oaky flavor notes of strawberry, raspberry, spice and rhubarb. Luscious and full-bodied, you’ll want to pair this with fatty meats and rich cheeses. This wine delivers exceptional quality and value.

Lieb Cellars Bridge Lane Ros

Long Island has really come into its own in recent years for light, easy-drinking summer winesthe perfect style for large-format boxes. Lieb Cellars Bridge Lane Rosé, a blend of Cab Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc, remains a mainstay in my fridge during warmer months. Recently, as a bridesmaid, my gift of five boxes for a rehearsal dinner managed to please the entire wedding party, including winning over one very skeptical mother of the bride. Bonus points also earned for helping keep our recycling pile and cleanup to a minimum. Dylan Garret, Senior Digital Editor, Wine Enthusiast

The 2017 Bridge Lane Sauvignon Blanc wine in a can begins with pleasing aromas of citrus, grapefruit, lemongrass and a bit of banana. Despite what you might expect from the can format, this is a lighter-bodied, more sophisticated Sauvignon Blanc that is delightful to drink. It features a great mouthfeel with a lively texture and good acidity and similar flavors to the nose. It ends dry with a lip-smacking finish of long-lasting tart fruit.

Quick question: have you ever stared at a photo of some new, groundbreaking invention and genuinely wondered to yourself, “Where on earth has this been my whole life and how have I survived thus far without it?” Well, that perfectly sums up what just happened inside my brain when I found out that freakin’ wine KEGS are a thing that exist in this world.

Bridge Lane, an adorable wine label based in Long Island, NY, is the miraculous creator of not one, but five wine-filled kegs that have me counting down the days minutes until my first backyard Summer party. The vino-licious contraptions come filled with either chardonnay, rosé , white merlot, sauvignon blanc, or a red blend. One keg contains 19.5 liters of boozy goodness, which translates to 26 bottles, if you’d like more of a visual picture of just how much wine is shoved in these things.

Lieb Cellars Launches Wine In Can Under Bridge Lane Label

Bridge Lane Wines red blend is our

CUTCHOGUE, NY July 25, 2017 Lieb Cellars, a leading NY winery located on the North Fork of Long Island, announced today the introduction of canned wine under their Bridge Lane label. Known for breaking tradition and embracing alternative wine packaging, putting wine in cans was a natural next step for the innovative wine company which was the first NY winery to launch 3L premium box wine and 20L disposable keg wine in 2014.

Our Lieb Cellars reserve line is our anchor and will always be about crafting the best possible, elegant, age-worthy wines from our estate vineyards, says Lieb Cellars General Manager, Ami Opisso. Our second label, Bridge Lane, is a about making fresh, fruit-forward wines and saying how can we have some fun and offer value? As young, casual consumers, what and how do we want to drink wine?

Last year Liebs team started thinking about canned wine. We live near the beach and bunch of us have or know people who have boats. We were excited about the idea of throwing some Bridge Lane cans in a cooler next to Greenport Harbor Summer Ales and not having to worry about glass bottles or even cups states Opisso.

In 2014 Lieb Cellars sold 900 3L boxes in NY only. This year Lieb is expected to sell 11,000 across 10 states in the US.

Their canned wine will retail in their tasting room for $9.00 for 375ML and will sell as singles or 4-packs.

Whats in the cans is the same luminous, vibrant wine thats in the bottles, including some less-usual offerings like a Chenin Blanc that tastes of clean minerality, pear, white peach and lemon peel, and a Rhone blend with notes of blueberry, plum and black pepper.

The boxed wine to reign over all other boxed wines with its enchanting flavor is the Old Vine Zinfandel from Bota Box.

Don’t Tell My Aunt: Wine Kegs Now Available

SX422F The Leeds New Line

Move over boxes, this is one of the $240 wine kegs available from Bridge Lane, a wine label from Lieb Cellars of Long Island, New York. Each 49-pound plastic-shelled keg contains a bladder filled with 19.5-liters of my aunt’s favorite lunch. Current kegs available include chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, red blend, white merlot and rosé. Live outside the New York City area? No problem, they’ll FedEx us just the bladder so we can still make a bathtub full of sangria. “Your bathtub is disgusting.” Yeah….how’s yours? “Not much better.” Let’s go buy a kiddy pool. Plus if nobody comes to our party we’ll just drink as much as we can then wrestle in what’s left! Wait — where are you going? “To buy that kiddy pool.” Aw yeah!

Thanks to Charlotte, who I feel like has the perfect wine-drinker’s name.
