Where To Buy Two Sisters Wine

Two Sisters Vineyards A Family Affair

Two Sisters 2016 Chardonnay (Ontario Wine Review #259)

Two Sisters Vineyards and us go way back. How far back? Well, back at least to the Summer of 2015 when we took a bike tour through Niagara-on-the-Lake, which included a pit stop at the super scenic and impressive winery. As we rode up the tree lined boulevard leading to the entrance, sweaty and tired , we had many questions. Whats the story of this beautiful vineyard? Who are the two sisters? Do they have a sparkling wine? And, when did this beautiful château pop up in Niagara-on-the-Lake?

We may not have gotten all the answers on our quick, first stop, but the winery did make a big impression on us. From the sense of refined luxury upon entering the doors, to the sense of calm at the wine bar, to the hustle and bustle of the on-site restaurant, Two Sisters really is a wine destination unto its own. Oh, and spoiler alert: we bought Jann Arden some of Two Sisters Lush Brut Rosé sparkling but, thats another story!

So, lets chat about Two Sisters, shall we?

Adam Leads Us To The Barrel Cellar Where We Are Introduced To The Two Sisters Melissa And Angela

They welcome us with a glass of a pink drink, no ordinary drink. This is their sparkling wine rose Lush. It is made in the methode traditionelle, as in Champagne. It has a pretty, subtle, pink hue due to the dosage of the Cabernet Franc. A flavor with enticing notes of biscuit, cherries and strawberries and a luscious creaminess on the palate. As we enjoy the bubbly in this elegant yet warm and inviting cellar we are entertained learning about the backstory of Two Sisters Vineyards.

Try this one on for size. Best Performing Small Winery of the Year at the 2018 National Wine Awards of Canada. This most recent accolade boldly earned and accordingly bestowed upon Two Sisters Vineyards is but another feather in the young winerys cap and yet there is every reason for its founders, viticultural and winemaking teams to wear this significant tombstone with pride.;I was recently very proud to pen the WineAlign foreward on behalf of the 2018 National Wine Awards of Canada award in a category that honours smaller wineries producing less than 10,000 annual cases. Congratulations to proprietors Angela;Marotta, Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli and winemaker Adam Pearce on being chosen as this years recipient of the annual award.;

The WineAlign team sat down in early August to taste through 18 wines from their impressive, premium portfolio. We had a tough time choosing a handful of favourites because there was so much consensus in finding quality across the board. Nevertheless here are the critics picks.

More From The Portfolio

All the wines in the portfolio are worth discussing because the winemaking team is taking nothing for granted. Agriculture is treated with utmost attention to every last detail, estate fruit or not. Working with growers like Craig Wismer and Daniel Lenko is a very congressional matter so that vines are grown and cropped to meet the highest end of the Two Sisters expectations. Below youll find further information that travels further beyond the WineAlign teams personal picks and highlights so keep reading for a deeper delve into these extraordinary wines.

Lush Brut Rosé combines pinot noir and chardonnay 50/50 with a two point eight per cent cabernet franc dosage and at a sugar level of 8 g/L. Its basically 2014 fruit, though not vintage labeled. Fresh cherries and raspberries, crushable bubble, some tannin on the palate. Carries a controlled energy laying flat but yes, its so very crushable.

Chardonnay;is a hefty barrel fermented one made from Lenko and Foxcroft fruit. Really smells and tastes like Beamsville Bench fruit, tight, taut and also über-rich. In this package it drafts understated, mature, grown-up, slipstream restrained. Really impressive with a clean, crisp acid structure. Pay attention to Two Sisters whites. Pay attention to wines properly made.

Review Of Two Sisters Food And Wine

Absolutely delightful service and wonderful atmosphere. We were lucky to have the owners of the bar, who were in having a drink, talk us through the wine list and tell us more about where to visit on our travels in South Australia. Excellent service, wine list and the food is a delight. Try the pate, it is amazing! Would highly recommend.

We sort of walked in by accident, the parking on the street is not great and this place can be easily missed. However, this is truly a hidden gem in Adelaide/ Unley/ Goodwood. Great selection of contemporary alcoholic list and a small selection of well-executed dishes to complement the wine. Truly, the hero of this place is the wine. Excellent place to chill out.

It’s great to see local bars springing up like this for the local residents to enjoy and this place is doing it well. Two sisters wine bar provides local wine and generally locivore style food at reasonable prices. I like to go there after work, especially on a Friday afternnoon when the sun is low in the sky. It’s also great for a snack before or after a movie at the local Capri. If you wanna miss the busyness of King WIlliam Road, try Two Sisters. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Two Sisters Vineyards 2013 Sauvignon Blanc $2400

Two Sisters Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc

This is a dry medium-bodied elegant Sauvignon Blanc with a delightful freshness and crisp acidity. It is light straw in colour and clear and brilliant in the glass. On the nose citrus and green apple aromas seduce with a very slight grassy nuance in the background. On the palate more citrus accompanied with tropical fruit notes and a good satisfying finish. The fruit for this award winning Sauvignon Blanc came from the Lincoln Lakeshore Appellation in Beamsville, Niagara.

Two Sisters Vineyards;2010 Cabernet Franc

Who is the King of Cab? Most say Cabernet Sauvignon but not necessarily. ;So here in Niagara, in fact Franc, or Cabernet Franc is the father of his son Sauvignon, and reigns supreme in this wine. Deep ruby in color, with intense ripe fruitaromas of raspberry, cassis, spice and hint of vanilla oak. On the palate rich juicy blackberry fruit, spice, hint of chocolate, soft tannins, elegant, easy and delicious drinking.

The Winery Inspired By Italian Renaissance Design

As we drive up to the entrance, a majestic building stands before us, baroque in style. A few of us remark, we learn later was inspired by an Italian architect in the 16th century, Andrea Palladio inspired by Italian Renaissance design. There has been no expense spared here. It is truly magnificent and very dramatic. Overall, it is quite imposing and moving. We suddenly hear an enthusiastic Bonjourno echoing from the back of the group. One of our guests has blurted out as we are greeted by the winemaker Adam Pearce. A youngish fella, charmed with personality, as well as charmed with the midas touch in the barrel cellar we will soon discover.

With wine maker Adam Pearce.

Stopped here on the way home still feeling a touch hungry. Kitchen was closed but they still served us a yummy sticky toffee pudding. Well done to staff. Interesting list of wines and food, we will definitely be back.

Too noisy for conversation which was what we were there for. A DJ playing loud music which everyone was trying to shout over. Ordered a pizza which didn’t arrive, even though there were not many people there. After an hour I asked if our order…had actually gone through, was told she would check but no information forthcoming. Twenty minutes later our $20, 8 inch pizza arrived which consisted of a base, thin sliced potato, and not much sign of Rosemary or Parmesan which was promised. I am a very tolerant 70 year old but this place is worth a miss.More

Friend and I initially ate next door to them a small tapas barUnfortunately it was expensive and not much food for two larger guysSo we then went next door to the two sisters food and wineThe service is outstanding we ordered a…pizza which was delicious We then asked do they have any bread as a side as it wasnt on the menuJess the manager said no problem lets see what we can do. Sure enough they made up a side of bruschetta for us What sets this place apart from the others is not just the food but the friendliness and the can do of the staff 10/10 We will be backMore
