Fresh acidity and good vibes all round! It makes you wanna hang at the pool, lake, beach etc. Really awesome! WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT !!!

Country: Austria – Grapes: Pinot Noir, Sankt Laurent – Alcohol: 12%

WE LOVE THIS! It’s playful, yet with also with some complexity. We enjoyed herbal elements alongside red cherry, lead pencil, vanilla essence… all tart and citrussy at the same time as being brilliantly fruity. FANTASTIC! Only 250 bottles made from this young family winery in Portugal, who feature their two young daughters on the labels.

Country: Portugal – Grapes: Moscatel, Touriga Nacional – Alcohol: 12%

This is a TOTAL JUICE for a pet nat! We get notes of tart and sour rhubarb, mingling with herbal touches, vanilla, baking spices and and cherry car sweets. A real delight and despite the colour, not explosive!

Between 2016 and 2020, the increasingly popular category saw a 281 percent increase in sales and has gone from beach bag essential to mainstay on serious wine lists. Thats because the rosés on wine shop shelves are no longer the saccharine pinks of generations past. Today, options on the American market are vast, with profiles from floral and fresh, to earthy and herbaceous.

And were no longer relying on Provence to provide us with top tier rosés, either. This year, many of the bottles that impressed VinePairs tasting panel hail from California, as well as some standouts from Greece and Italy.

One of our favorite things about rosé is its accessibility over half of the bottles here clock in at under $25, making them great case-buys for toting along to picnics or serving at summer barbecues. But with a dynamic assortment of punchy, exciting, and just plain delicious wines to choose from, its hard to go wrong with any bottle on this list.

What Is Ros Wine

If white wine comes from white grapes and red wine from red grapes, rosé must come from pink grapes, right? Nature doesnt make pink grapes, and rosé wines are actually made from red grapes. This style of wine is more about the winemakers method than grape varietals.

There are four different methods to producing rosé wine. One leaves the grape skins in the juice for a short time. Another creates a lighter color by pressing the juice and skins and removing the skins right away. For the saingée process, a little red wine juice is bled off and used for red wine, while the remainder becomes a lighter-colored rosé. In contrast, some winesincluding many rosé Champagnesare actually a blend or red and white wines.
