It is believed Cattier still owns part of the Armand de Brignac brand alongside Jay-Z, but specific details have not been disclosed.
Cattier, which has a long history of producing Champagne for others under licence, makes around 100,000 bottles of Armand de Brignac each year, representing only a small proportion of the familys total annual sales of 1 million bottles.
The family owns 33 hectares of vineyards and the split between grapes bought or owned is approximately 50%.
Emilien Boutillat, the winemaker, is one of the 14 people working on the Armand de Brignac brand.
He told that only the first portion of the press is used to ensure pristine juice, fresh flavours and the highest acidity possible.
The wines spend at least three years on lees and three to six months in bottle after disgorgement. Each one of the 100,000 bottles is dressed with a metal coating made of aluminium and finished by hand polished and fitted with four pewter labels.
The range is available from 75cl bottle to 30-litre Midas, and is believed to be the only Champagne to be available in a 30-litre bottle.

Armand de Brignac Champagne is a prestige Champagne brand owned by the Cattier family. The family has a rich history as an elite Champagne house in the tiny village of Chigny les Roses as they have owned and cultivated family vineyards since 1763. Today, Patriarch Jean-Jacques Cattier oversees the Chateau’s wine production with strictly limited annual yields, ensuring that the family’s artisanal winemaking traditions are kept alive in each bottle.
The Cattier cellars are among the deepest and oldest in the Champagne region and are classified by the Comité Interprofessional du Vin de Champagne and the Institut National des Appellations d’Origine. They have three styles of architecture represented in the caverns: Gothic, Renaissance, and Roman. Armand de Brignac is aged in a special, gated section of the deepest part of these cellars, 119 steps underground.

Armand de Brignac Champagne won praise from wine critics and connoisseurs around the globe: Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Brut Gold was voted No.1 Champagne in the world in a blind tasting of 1,000 brands in 2010. A Brief History Armand De Brignac
Armand de Brignac is a prestige Champagne produced by the Cattier family who has a history as an elite Champagne house in the tiny village of Chigny Les Roses. They have owned and cultivated the family vineyards since 1773.
The original de Brignac name was registered by the Cattier family in the late 1940s. Jean-Jacques recalls that it was chosen by his mother who had been reading a novel featuring a character named de Brignac.
It remained dormant for decades until at the turn of the 21st century the Cartier family began to set aside parcels of reserve wines for a new prestige Champagne Project. The first bottles of Armand de Brignac Brut Gold left the cellars in France in 2006.
The original registered name de Brignac was changed to Armand de Brignac for the new Champagne. This was required by the French Industry Group Comite Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne to avoid confusion with the village of Brignac just outside the Champagne Region.
Industry sources cannot agree whether Jay-Z had a financial stake in Ace of Spades from 2006 when Armand de Brignac Brut Gold was first introduced to the market, but he bought the company outright from Sovereign Brands in 2014. In 2021 he sold a 50% stake to Moet Hennesy the wine and spirits arm of LVMH.
The five Cuvee in the Armand de Brignac use the traditional Champagne grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot MeubRnier.

This is a three-way assemblage: three grape varieties and equal percentage of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with 20% of Pinot Meunier and a blend of 3 vintages, 2009, 2010 and 2012. The nose is full of flavours and rich with notes of white flowers and crème patissière. However, the palate is crisp, fresh and delicate with a lovely creamy texture. It is elegant, refined and very stylish . Its a pleasant combination of power and concentration blended with finesse and elegance. While the dosage is 9g/l, it feels much drier, more like a 5g/l and this probably due to the spinal cord of acidity. – Decanter, 95 pts

The Blanc de Noirs Assamblage Three was launched in the UK in September 2019.
Only 3,535 bottles of Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs A3 were made. It was disgorged on April 9 2019, and it is made from the 2009, 2010 and 2012 vintages.
The Blanc de Noirs A3 is an extraordinarily gourmet wine with richness, intensity and length but it is not too heavy, as some can be, said Chef de Cave Jean-Jacque Cattier.
