Does Aldi Sell Beer And Wine

Don't Miss

Discontinued Aldi Items That We Miss The Most

ALDI’s 2019 wine and beer Advent calendars go on sale

When it comes to low prices, it’s difficult for any supermarket in America to compete with Aldi. Their business model demands strict efficiency, whether that means potentially ruffling feathers by charging you for shopping bags, demanding a quarter for a shopping cart, or discontinuing popular items.

If you’ve been shopping at Aldi for any length of time, you’ve probably felt the pain of one of your favorite items disappearing from their shelves. However, the fact that they are routinely found to be the most inexpensive grocery store in the United States helps to dull that pain and heal all wounds. Most of us are willing to forego luxuries and amenities found at other supermarkets as long as we are able to keep more money in our pockets.

We’ve kept track of all the popular items that Aldi has discontinued over the years. Here are the products that we miss more than all the rest.

What Us States Sell Alcohol At Aldi

Currently, you can purchase alcohol at Aldi in nearly 1400 of their 2,000+ stores.

States include: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Bear in mind, however, that not every store in these states sells alcohol.

The best way to find out if an Aldi near you sells alcohol is to visit the Find A Store locater, enter your location and make sure that the Beer and Wine store features are checked.

Can You Use A Self

Typically, one is not able to purchase alcohol at self-checkouts unless there is an associate available to verify the purchasers age.

Stores such as Walmart and Kroger do allow the sale of alcohol at self-checkouts, but the customer must scan their ID prior to purchasing.

Aldi has used an entirely employee-driven checkout process but has begun trialing self-checkout consoles in their stores in 2021. The first Aldi self-checkout was debuted in May of 2021, at their store in Akron, Ohio.

Aldi’s Fusia Sriracha Sauce

If you go to Aldi, you can find a wide range of yummy Asian-inspired products under the Fusia name brand. From Fusia Fresh California Rolls to Fusia Mandarin Orange Chicken, almost every single thing is delicious. That was also true for Fusia Sriracha Sauce before it was unceremoniously discontinued.

All sriracha sauce is compared to the ubiquitous Sriracha sauce produced by Huy Fong Foods since 1980. By comparison, Fusia Sriracha Sauce wasn’t nearly as hot and it had a sweetness about it that made it addicting. While it wasn’t better for all occasions, Aldi’s Sriracha sauce definitely was worth keeping around in your cupboard. Sadly, that’s no longer an option.

If you’re looking to feed your Fusia Sriracha Sauce addiction, Trader Joe’s has a sauce that is similar although it has a stronger garlic taste. If you want to stick with products available at Aldi, Fusia Sweet and Sour Sauce is definitely worth your hard-earned money. It’s not spicy, mind you, but it’s outstanding in its own right.

What Time Does Aldi Stop Selling Alcohol

News Team 3 Stories : ALDI liquor stores mean cheaper ...

Customers can purchase alcohol at Aldi stores that allow the sale of alcohol during store operating hours. This is dependent upon on local laws, whether that be the city, state, or county ordinance.

Normal limits would allow the sale of alcohol until the stores closing. Store hours often change during holidays or peak seasons.

Can You Buy Aldi Advent Calendars Online

No. Unfortunately, U.S. Aldi stores are not set up for online ordering for shipment. Most Aldi stores do offer delivery through Instacart, and some stores offer curbside pick-up. Aldi has said that the alcohol and cheese advent calendars will not be available through delivery or pick-up. Other advent calendars might, but if stock is limited, you may find them sold-out before your order is fulfilled by your local store.

Rosso By Grand Alberone

The Grand Alberone Rosso is another red wine that is a great buy at Aldi. The grocer does not provide much information on this wine. However, the producer tells us its a blend of Teroldego, Zinfandel, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Rosso is aged for an unspecified period of time in oak barrels.

Imported by Prestige Wine and Spirits, the Rosso by Grand Alberone starts with a nice aroma of chocolate, dark berries, spice, and plenty of vanilla.

It tastes sweet, smooth, and lush, full of savory fruit, a little cola, and even more vanilla. Underneath you may detect a bit of earthiness, but it adds to the flavor of the Rosso. The wine is fun, simple, and easy to drink. The finish consists of a combination of tart fruit and sweetness.

This wine from Aldi begins with pleasing aromas of ripe dark berries, a little spice, a little chocolate and lots of vanilla. The wine tastes smooth and sweet and is chock full of savory tart fruit with nicely integrated spice, cola and more vanilla.

Fit & Active Whole Grain Waffles From Aldi

Aldi advent calendars available today – but always go fast

Starting your day with a healthy breakfast can be difficult, especially when there are so many delicious cereals on the market that you really shouldn’t be eating. That’s the reason why it was so disappointing that Aldi discontinued their Fit & Active Whole Grain Waffles. These waffles were both healthy and yummy. But, now, they’ve gone the way of the Dodo bird.

Per waffle, Fit & Active Whole Grain Waffles had only 75 calories and one gram of sugar, while having a notable amount of protein, iron, calcium, and vitamin A. Plus, as the name suggests, its main ingredient was whole grain.

Taste-wise, these waffles compared favorably to the competition. While you might have been tempted to douse them maple syrup, they were flavorful enough to eat on their own or with a small amount of melted butter.

Aldi had a similar product called Fit & Active Multigrain Waffles but that has also been discontinued. These waffles didn’t taste as good as the whole grain variety but it’s a shame that both have disappeared.

Other Places To Look For Amazing Wine Finds

Are you unable to find any of these hit wines at Aldi and are looking for other stores to shop at? Or do you not have an Aldi store near you?

Either way, its important for you to have other stores for wine alternatives to look for. Thats why weve included a few of the other best wine places to shop at. Take a look at our top recommendations:

How To Create A Build

Mimosas are traditionally made with orange juice and Champagne, but you can pair any bubbly with a variety of juices and fruit garnishes. Creating a mimosa bar lets everyone customize their own unique cocktail. And buying everything at ALDI lets you do it affordably.

Heres what you need from ALDI to make this mimosa bar:

  • Belletti prosecco
  • Natures Nectar Orange Juice
  • Other varieties of juice such as Simply Nature Organic 100% Super Fruits Juice and Natures Nectar Cranberry Pomegranate Cocktail
  • Fresh berries and sliced fruit like lemons, limes, and oranges, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries
  • Champagne flutes or other slim glasses

Mimosas are typically a 1:1 ratio between bubbly and juice. One bottle of Belletti Prosecco will be enough for about six mimosas.

Malbec By Exquisite Collection

Exquisite Collection has another wine to add to is every growing selection. This time, its a Malbec produced in Mendoza, Argentina, which is imported into the US by Mack and Schuhle, Inc.

This delicious Malbec starts with a pleasant aroma of plum, mint, blackberry, and a touch of cedar. One sip of this silky and smooth full-bodied wine results in a taste of spice and plenty of fruit.

Surprisingly, this Malbec offers a decent amount of complexity, resulting in a wine that is fairly well put together. Dry with the right touch of sweet, youre getting an excellent wine for little money. The finish is long and full of juicy tasting tart fruits and just a hint of oaky spice.

Sweet Sparkling Moscato By Arosa

Aldi Is Selling A Sweet Peach Wine And, Boy, Do I Need A ...

If you like sweet wine, then you should definitely give this Sweet Sparkling Moscato a try. Youll immediately notice the fragrance of strawberry, peach, and other berries when you smell this non-vintage Moscato.

Theres also a hint of floral aroma along with a bit of bread. Youll get a crisp and sweet taste in your mouth when you take a sip, but at 7% alcohol, this Moscato goes down nice and easy. The smooth taste in your mouth and the fair amount of flavors means you dont have a long finish. As a result, its very difficult not to drink this wine by the glassful.

This sweet sparkling Moscaote is simple and well-made. Theres nothing complex about it, making it the perfect option for those who love sweet wines. Its an ideal dessert wine, or if you prefer spicy food, it pairs quite nice with that as well.

In 2020, Aldi offered more than 20 different advent calendar choices, and the company has even created its own holiday around them!

Benton’s Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies From Aldi

If you love soft cookies that taste like they just came out of your grandmother’s oven, you would have loved Benton’s Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies. These goodies, which were exclusively sold at Aldi, literally melted in your mouth and the rush of flavors tantalized your taste buds. It was magical.

Not only were Benton’s Chocolate Chip Homestyle Cookies discontinued, so was the entire line of “homestyle” cookies under the Benton brand. The other flavor options included Benton’s Oatmeal Raisin Homestyle Cookies and Benton’s Peanut Butter Homestyle Cookies. While all the flavors were delectable, there was just something so amazing about the chocolate chip variety.

Aldi still has Benton’s Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies available to purchase but they’re just not the same, as these cookies are similar to Chips Ahoy and simply don’t have the texture or the taste that reminds you of the homemade cookies from your childhood. The closest thing you can sometimes find in Aldi are made by Matt’s Cookies, however they are much more expensive and not quite as good as the discontinued homestyle cookies.

Aldi Wants To Start Selling Beer And Wine At Its Pelham Store

ALDI is Coming to Southern California and I am SO Excited ...

ALDI Alabaster front edit.jpg

ALDI is seeking retail off-premise beer and wine licenses for its Pelham store located at 200 Big Mountain Road. Pictured is the discount grocery chain’s store in Alabaster.

The Pelham City Council on Monday night approved an application by ALDI to the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board seeking licenses to sell beer and wine at its store along a Highway 31 frontage road in the city.

City leaders gave their approval to applications for retail off-premise beer and wine licenses for the store located at 200 Big Mountain Road. The applications to sell alcohol are the first received by the city from the store following its grand opening March 1, 2012.

Approval of the licenses must come from the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.

Certain ALDI locations throughout the country sell beer and wine. The company’s website, www.aldi.us, explained why some stores do not sell alcohol.

“We have to obtain special licenses to sell beer and wine on a store-by-store basis. The process takes longer in some municipalities than others. Rest assured that it’s our desire to provide each ALDI store with our complete product line and we will continue to work to achieve this,” according to the website.

The discount-grocery chain recommends using its online store locator to see which locations sell beer and wine.
