Seven Wines For Seven Sisters
To Vivian Kleynhans, owner of African Roots Wines, wine represents more than just business and craftsmanship it also represents sisterhood. Through her company, which is based in South Africas Western Cape, she produces Seven Sisters wines. Each of the seven wines was developed based on the personality of Kleynhans or one of her six sisters: Vivian , Dawn , June , Carol , Yolanda , Twena and Odelia .
Kleynhans, who grew up in poverty with her sisters and one brother in Paternoster, a small fishing village on the western coast of South Africa, said she launched her first wine business after a conversation about exports during a 2003 dinner at the house of the U.S. Ambassador to South Africa a dinner she attended with a client that was contracting her for human resources work at the time. All her life, she knew she wanted to own and operate her own business. But she didnt realize until then that shed get her big break in wine.
I was interested to know more about this industry, and learned that it covers 8 percent of our countrys employment, she stated. But people of color were still 100 percent laborers on these farms and yet to be owners of land or of wine businesses.
Kleynhans noted that she learned all about the industry and eventually started the business, but the industrys cold reception of non-white business owners caused everything to fail within three years. Instead of giving up, however, she turned to her sisters for support and inspiration.

This dream is to plant vines and produce fine, delicious and breathtakingly wines for local and international markets was realised in 2012 when Chardonnay and Shiraz vineyards were planted in a section of barren land in Stellenbosch which belonged to the Brutus Family. Today, a wide variety of grapes, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato, Chardonnay, Shiraz, and Cape Blend are cultivated to produce exciting blends of red and white wines.

In truth, it really is a heart-warming story. The seven Brutus sisters and their brother grew up in a disadvantage community following the eviction, but twenty years later were reunited and began working towards realising their vision of creating African Roots Wine Brands. Christophe Navarre Joins Seven Tails Board
Former Moët Hennessy chairman Christophe Navarre has joined the board of brandy specialist Seven Tails Distillers as a director and investor in the brand.
Navarre is currently the chairman of wine recommendations app and e-commerce platform, Vivino.
Navarre added: I am very excited to join Arnaud de Trabuc, whom I have known for a long time, and the Seven Tails team. I strongly believe in the opportunity of Seven Tails Brandy to grow in the International market.
Navarre was named Officier de la Legion dHonneur, Commandeur de lOrdre du Merite Agricole in France, Commandeur de lOrdre de Leopold II and Officier de lOrdre de la Couronne in Belgium and Chevalier de lordre de Saint Charles in Monaco.
He is a board member of Advini and SBM in Monaco.
Seven Tails Distillers Ltd is a privately held company that specialises in the production of premium and super premium spirits distilled from grape eaux-de-vie from the southwest of France, including Cognac and Armagnac.
Seven Tails XO Brandy was launched internationally in 2019. The spirit is currently available in the US, UK, Singapore, Spain, Greece, France and China.
Soon it will be expanding its footprint Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Portugal, Canada, Hong Kong and Russia.
The brandy can be found at all Soho Houses around the world including its restaurants, bars and hotel rooms.
