Post Malone has announced he will be launching his own brand of French rosé in time for summer.
On Wednesday, the rapper shared a photo of himself to Instagram, where he can be seen dressed in a tux and holding a glass of his new pink wine, Maison No 9 a name inspired by the 24-year-olds favourite tarot card, the Nine of Swords.
To create the rosé, the Circles singer teamed up with entrepreneur James Morrissey of Global Brand Equities and music manager Dre London.
According to the trio, the idea to create a wine first came about during a dinner in Los Angeles. Just days after the initial conversation, they travelled to Provence, France, where they worked with winemaker Alexis Cornu to try different grape varieties.
The result is a wine with a Provencal Pink colour that features notes of freshly picked fruit.
Inviting aromas of freshly picked fruit, such as ripe pineapple, pear and strawberry, meet hints of sweet French desserts once uncorked, the wines description reads.

Post Malone is one of the hottest artists on the planet today, and hes also one of the busiest. Three months since his Runaway Tour wrapped in March, raking in more than $95 million, and less than a year since the September 2019 release of his chart-topping album Hollywoods Bleeding, he somehow found time to develop his own rosé brand. Not bad for someone who just celebrated his 25th birthday on July 4.
According to Post, a.k.a. Posty , Maison No. 9 was conceived of during a pre-Grammys dinner conversation in early 2019 with his manager, Dre London, and spirits entrepreneur James Morrissey. The trio found themselves at a vineyard in Provence 10 days later. There, Post helped guide the final blend of Maison No. 9 Grenache Noir, Cinsault, Syrah, and Merlot and he drew up sketches for what would ultimately become the bottle design and label. The No. 9 is a nod to the nine of swords in tarot symbology, which the soft-spoken singer/songwriter/producer has tattooed on the right side of his face.
Like the music hes famous for, Post Malones rosé has earned fast fans. Despite the unseasonably late June debut , within two days of its launch, 50,000 bottles of the label were sold. Now posted up in his own mountainside maison in Park City, Utah, Post assures VinePair he still has plenty of room for his kegs of Bud Light. Maison No. 9 was born from an idea to bring together a best-in-class winery with Post Malones love of the Mediterranean lifestyle and rosé, the company says. Morrissey, an Irish-born entrepreneur, introduced Post and Dre to the opportunity first over stories at dinner in Los Angeles, followed by a visit to the vineyard in Provence just days later. Deep-rooted knowledge of the entertainment industry, along with a shared hustle mentality and love of wine, gave the business partners confidence that the venture would succeed, it adds.
Working closely with winemaker Alexis Cornu, the founders spent much of 2019 in-between Posts sold-out tour dates traveling frequently to the winery. They tried many grape varietals and sampled more than 50 blends until they developed a new blend of premium rosé with which they were happy.

The first 50,000 bottles were released on Vivino and the site crashed almost immediately due to the highest-ever demand for a single item in one day, and the team at the online retailer increased the bandwidth, according to Forbes. The whole lot sold out within 48 hours. Then the $21.99 rosé was rolled out through stores in the U.S. and all 500,000 bottles were gone by the end of the year.

Malone, his longtime manager Dre London and friend James Morrissey, the successful hospitality and nightlife entrepreneur behind Global Brand Equities, make up the founding team behind the new rosé imprint, which came to life in early 2019 with surprising speed.
The adventure began, as these things do, after wine-fueled hangouts with actor Mark Wahlberg, who co-stars with Malone in Netflixs Spenser Confidential. In Feb. 2019, Morrissey met up with London and Malone before the Grammy Awards, where Malone performed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Morrissey had just returned from visiting a small vineyard in France and told the newly converted wine enthusiasts about it. The timing just happened to be perfect, London says. Malone made his on-screen acting debut in the 2020 Netflix film Spenser Confidential, which Wahlberg starred in and produced. Post is also for voicing the character Brooklyn Bystander in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Malones newfound interest in wine came at the right time in February 2019 when he met up with Morrissey, an entrepreneur for Global Brand Equities, who had just come back from visiting a small vineyard in France. We had dinner that night in LA, and five days later I met the guys in Dublin where they were doing a show, he recalls. Three days later, we were in the south of France tasting the liquid at the winery. That was 10 days after the first discussion. These guys dont wait around when they see an opportunity.
Everyone Will Like It But No One Will Love It
I am skeptical of celebrity rosé brands Jon Bon Jovis Hampton Water, has, to this day, given me the worst hangover of my life, and DJ Khaleds bubbly rosé tastes like soap. But then theres Miravel, the wine made by Brangelinas French winery , which is truly excellent.
Its with this celeb wine savvy that I came to Post Malones Maison No. 9. Ill start with the bottle, an elegant thing half my height and with a delicate glass cork that one can screw off without an opener. I drank this wine with my boyfriend, a Post Malone devotee but harsh critic of rosés. He detected a smoky aftertaste, which I missed, and melon, but in the burp. Meanwhile, I got a lot of strawberry on the nose, with a wetter mouth feel than I like with light wines. Its on the sweeter side, and pleasantly acidic. Post Malone has launched his own rosé wine in time for the great British summer, called Maison No 9.
The new wine will be available in Tesco supermarkets and independent wine retailers across the UK from 3 June.
It comes just as forecasters predict drier and sunnier weather as June arrives, with temperatures close to average for the time of year compared to May, which is on track to be the wettest on record.
Malone, a Grammy Award-nominated artist, collaborated with music manager Dre London and James Morrissey of Global Brand Equities to come up with the pale pink wine, which was perfected by Provence winemaker Alexis Cornu.
The three met before the 61st Grammy Awards in 2019 to discuss a vineyard in the south of France and agreed to create a rosé wine blend that would stand out as their personal favourite.

However, Malone is here to prove that a cigarette-smoking, tattooed musician can also be a rosé aficionado. In fact, Maison No. 9 is a far cry from the pink-washed, yes way Rosé craze that started years ago. Its a thoughtful endeavor centered around Malones love of the Mediterranean lifestyle, and the rosé that accompanied it.
The name, Maison No. 9, actually stems from a tarot card. Via an interview with Apple Musics Zane Lowe, Malone revealed that the nine of swords tarot card signifies anxiety. Maison No. 9 is meant to represent the antithesis of that anxiety. I wanted to make something that after a long, anxious day, and youre working your ass off and nothing seems to be going right, you can sit at home and relax, have a couple of glasses, the musician told Lowe.

Post Malones Maison No 9 Ros Wins Tesco Listing
Having successfully built the brand in the US, American rapper Post Malone has won a nationwide listing at UK Tesco stores for his southern French rosé, Maison No. 9.
In line with the current global thirst for pale pink, bone-dry rosé, Maison No. 9 2020 is a Méditerranée IGP made from 45% Grenache, 25% Cinsault, 15% Syrah and 15% Merlot.
On sale from 3 June in Tesco stores across the UK, the 75cl bottle is priced at £19. Larger formats of the rosé are available via the brands website, priced at £44.99 for the magnum and £118.99 for the Jeroboam, with distribution from E& J Gallo.
The rosé was of Global Brand Equities, and music manager Dre London.
The trio created the wine by working closely with vintner Alexis Cornu of Provence winery group MDCV, based close to St. Tropez, with Malone making frequent trips to France while on tour in 2019.
Its name is inspired by Malones favourite tarot card, the Nine of Swords, which represents overcoming challenges.
The wine is housed in a tall bottle with an elongated neck and a glass stopper shaped like a castle turret in a nod to the medieval castle close to the MDCV base.
The pale pink rosé is said to offer aromas of ripe pineapple, pear and strawberry, and has a clean, crisp finish, making it a versatile wine for food.
Wine snobs can look down on those trying to learn about the category, thats not cool, he added. The brand is being marketed as an affordable luxury for everyday celebrations.
