Now, on to the individual reviews. First up is the 2015 Trinitas Old Vine Zinfandel.

The Affordable California Red Blend With Napas Iconic Style

Every year our winemaker sets aside some of our favorite lots of old vine varietals and blends together a wine shrouded in mystery. While the varietals used in the blend change from year to year, we strive to recreate the same crowd-pleasing flavor profile with each new vintage. The aromas and palate showcase ripe raspberry, maraschino cherry, blackberry jam and vanilla tinged notes of oak. Its as delicious as it sounds, and we hope that you agree it overdelivers for its price!

    Winemaking Notes

This wine was aged in 100% American oak, once used from our Chardonnay program. The different varietals were barrel aged separately to build individual complexities. Three months before bottling we take these varietals and determine the best blend for this vintage.

    Trinitas Cellars Wine Bar

Wine country comes to the San Diego coast at Trinitas Cellars Wine Bar, the only Southern California tasting room for the Napa Valley winemaker. Sample Trinitas best blends by the glass, a tasting flight, or pairing with a cheese and charcuterie board. In addition to the award-winning wines, this bar in La Jolla serves a wide selection of local craft beer, plus cocktails artfully created with house-made bitters and Estancia La Jollas own private label Single Barrel Jack Daniels.

For budding sommeliers and mixologists, this La Jolla wine bar also offers private tasting and education options. Seminars on topics like the art of matching wine with food and how to barrel-age spirits are available for groups of all sizes with prior reservation.

Established in Napa in 2002 by Estancias owners, Trinitas Cellars was the Busch familys first foray into hospitality. Latin for trinity, trinitas represents the winerys mission and wine making philosophy: sun, soil, and humanity.

    Dear Platinum Wine Club Members

    Zinfandel

You are in for quite the treat! Our 2013 Meritage is not only one of my personal favorites, but a guaranteed crowd pleaser. This decidedly delicious wine has everything you want from Napa Valley. It opens up with a beautiful bouquet of ripe strawberry, raspberry, plum, sweet vanilla and cedar. On the palate, baked strawberry, black raspberry, licorice, and tobacco flavors unfold in harmony as gentle tannins frame the lingering finish. The additional bottle time has really let this meld together, and the result is a complex, rich, and silky Napa Valley blend that we are grateful to share with you.My parents founded our family winery in 2002. Our family believes that with family, faith, and perseverance, anything is possible. These values illuminated our path to, and successes within, world-class resort hospitality. An industry where success is measured by the happiness and memories you inspire in others. With Trinitas Cellars, I hope that we can inspire the same in wine enthusiasts. Our goal is to craft wine thats so compellingly delicious, that the joy it brings creates a window in time where worries are melted away, virtues are celebrated, and life is savored.Should you ever make your way to Napa, we would welcome the opportunity to host you in our beautiful new tasting room. Bring this letter in and we will treat you to two complimentary reserve wine tastings with cheese pairings. We would love to help make your next trip to Napa unforgettable!Sincerely,Trinitas Cellars

    Trinitas Old Vine Petite Sirah

    TASTE: 9 COST: 4

The third wine in today’s 3 pack is our perfect 10, the 2014 Trinitas Old Vine Mataro.

This wine is 100% Mataro from 90+ year old vines of the Gonsalves Vineyard in Oakley, Contra Costa County, California. The wine spends 10 months in once used American oak. Just a few hundred cases were produced.

Trinitas chose to use the Portuguese name for Mourvedre since the vineyard is farmed by the Gonsalves family, third generation growers of Portuguese descent.

Mataro, commonly referred to as Mourvedre, is one of our most esoteric varietals. It displays beautiful aromatics of black cherry, cola berry, chocolate, smoke, vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon. The mouth is full of juicy red fruit, and its fleshy core carries through to the long velvety finish. Dry farmed and meticulously grown by our favorite Oakley growers, the Gonsalves family.

    15.7% Alcohol

The 2014 Trinitas Old Vine Mataro begins with a very enticing aroma full of deep dark fruit, anise and other spice plus touches of vanilla, toffee and chocolate. A bit raisiny and Port-like on the nose, it fits the Portuguese use of the grape name well.

Tasting the wine reveals rich, decadent fruit flavors filled with lovely spice and more touches of vanilla, toffee and chocolate. Smooth and a bit jammy, this is delicious, full-bodied wine with lots of dark fruit. It’s got a lot of alcohol but handles it very well. This is perfect for those cold winter’s nights that are coming soon.

    Trinitas Old Vine Zinfandel

    TASTE: 9 COST: 4

The second wine in today’s 3 pack is the 2013 Trinitas Old Vine Petite Sirah.

This wine is 100% Petite Sirah from the 100+ year old vines of the Gonsalves Vineyard in Oakley, Contra Costa County, California. The wine spends 18 months in once used American oak barrels. 1,969 cases produced. This vintage received 91 points from Wine Enthusiast.

Our Petite Sirah is dry farmed near the town of Oakley. This bold wine displays aromatics of espresso covered chocolates, blueberries, and toast. Our Petite Sirah has the perfect combination of tannin structure, weight, and balance. Try with short ribs braised in our Petite Sirah with bacon, carrots, and pearl onions.

    15.3% Alcohol

The 2013 Trinitas Old Vine Petite Sirah opens with lots of leather on the enticing nose as well as plum, blackberry, spice, vanilla, mocha, a little smoke and more. It’s a great start and it gets even better from there.

Tasting the full bodied wine shows lots of dark berry fruit, lots of oaky spice and pepper. It’s big but balanced. I wouldn’t have guessed it to be 15.6% alcohol. Give this one lots of air as plenty of intriguing secondary notes come out when you do. All three of these wines have some pretty nice aging potential as well.

Firm tannins lead into the dry, long, savory and grippy finish that shows just a touch of heat. This is a great example of one of our favorite varieties.

Sunny berry aromas give way to focused black cherry and dark-chocolate flavors that ride a richly tannic texture in this full-bodied wine. Made from a blend based on Zinfandel and Carignane grapes, it delivers ample complexity and depth. Jim Gordon

Speaking Of Slapping Hands How Kosher Are These Pre

Todays post Vatican II parishes and liturgies as well as priests and congregations are like a box of chocolates. You never know what youll get.

All kinds of strange things, that are not in the Reformed Roman Missal, are dragged into the Mass, especially questionable aspects of peoples cultures and often pre-evangelized cultural aspects.

One also finds priests ad libbing the Mass parts, inserting his personality and piety or lack thereof and all on display in an entertainment sort of way no matter how bad and jarring. There is no Custodius Traditionis written to reign this in whatsoever.

Even during the penitential act, a priest or deacon might make up the tropes of the c form of options for this act, completely make it up and without any slap on the hand. I know from experience.

Thus and I ask in all sincerity, are the following additions to the post-Vatican II revised/reformed Mass kosher and/or any worse than what happens in so any Ordinary Form Masses with complete disregard to traditional aspects of this Mass?

While it is completely acceptable for bishops, priests and deacons to adjust the revised and/or reformed Mass with ad libs, untraditional additions and elimination of some parts even of the reformed Mass, how wrong would it be to do this to the Reformed Mass which is celebrated in the dead language of Latin?

    I honestly ask!

    4. The triple Dominus Non sum Dignus?

    5. The Last Gospel as a postlude to the Mass?

Well, I am waiting for legitimate responses

Also, one last note on all these wines is that the labels list higher alcohol levels than the actuals we included here. For example, the label on the Zinfandel says 16.6%. That number however, just needs to be within 1 percentage point of the actual so oftentimes wineries don’t update to the exact number each vintage as long as it falls within +/- 1%.
