Its been a minute since weve visited beautiful British Columbia, and were still reflecting on the sparkling insights we brought back with us on our last trip in 2018.
Reflecting on Blue Mountain Winerys Bubbles
When we think of pioneers in British Columbia sparkling wine, top of mind is Blue Mountain Winery, which was one of the first wineries to craft traditional method bubbles on Canadas west coast in the late 1980s.
On our 2018 trip, we had the pleasure of visiting Blue Mountain and tasting with Christie Mavety, who grew up on the estate, and who joined the winery formally as part of the sales and marketing team. Christie shared her journey with us, and we sampled a selection of the Blue Mountain portfolio while taking in the incredible views of their South Okanagan site.
Irrigated vineyards set among steeply and gently sloping hills, benefitting from the moderating effects of Lake Okanagan and an iconic view of a Blue Mountain added a sense of place to the tasting.
And speaking of tasting, Christie was kind enough to pull out a selection of their sparkling wines the Brut, Brut Rosé and Brut Reserve which were mostly sold out at the time. This solid portfolio set a standard in our mind, and a good portion of the haul that we brought back home was from this beautiful winery.

Where To Buy Our Blueberry Wine
The release of our Blueberry wine has been amazing. We cant keep the shelves stocked at the winery and we are getting many requests to sell it outside the tasting room. A lot of people have been asking where they can pick up some bottles outside of the winery and we are happy to announce that there are many liquor stores across British Columbia who carry this specialty wine.
Why is our wine such a hit? We use Reka blueberries that are grown on our own farms, and are given the same extraordinary care and attention that all of the Monte Creek Ranch artisan products receive.
This 100% Blueberry wine is excellent with food thanks to its bright, natural acidity and dry palate. It has a bright fuchsia colour. You will notice notes of blueberry, lilac, and white peach on the nose and big fruit and floral flavours on the palate. Serve chilled and pair with fowl, salty feta, or Thai Food. It is the perfect summer patio sipper. On top of that, it is extremely high in antioxidants!

Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars faces steep blue mountains across Vaseux Lake on 2385 Allendale Road, Okanagan Falls, BC. In the fertile Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars reigns high in its ability to make international-calibre wines that are consistent in quality and style from year to year, regardless of the seasonal variables nature deals.
Along with exceptional terrain, owners Ian, Jane, Matt and Christie Mavety credit their success to the integrity of their estate.
