This is a quick and easy project that you can whip up in no time.

  • cutting machine I have a Cricut Maker and like to use that. You could easily cut these out by hand as well with a good pair of scissors, but its so much easier if you have a Cricut!
  • cardstock any thickness will do that said, I find that 110lb is hard to go through my printer, I have to manually feed it. Since these are disposable, I just go for whatever pretty colour I have on hand.
  • good colour printer . I have an HP Envy Photo Printer that I use all the time for not only crafts but for homework too.
  • pens for your Cricut .
  • optional: thin gauge wire, twine, yarn, raffia or ribbon to attach to the glasses. I just used what I happened to have in my crafting stash.

I made these simple, heart-shaped wine tags on Cricut Design Space. Access this free cutting file in my Free Resource Library. To gain access to the library, simply subscribe to my blog and you will find the password at the bottom of my emails.

Clicking on the link in my Free Resource Library should open up Cricut Design Space with the heart-shaped templates all ready to go. You will notice that I have 2 different templates:

How Long Does Homemade Vanilla Extract Last

Forever! Yep, as long as you stick to a few rules it should last you a long time, if not a lifetime. You have several options:

  • Everytime you use a tablespoon or more of your vanilla top it off with the same liquor . Shake well a few times and you are ready to go for next time, plus you ensure your beans stay covered and moist. No waiting involved.
  • Or wait until youve used half of your vanilla or your beans are exposed, then top it off with original liquor letting it hang out again in a dark pantry for 2 weeks or longer before using. This works well if you have two bottles of vanilla, then you can alternate between the two my preferred method.
  • For either method, be sure to occasionally throw in a split, fresh vanilla bean or two. You can pull out one of the old ones if you wish or its getting too crowded.
  • Have you used a vanilla bean in a recipe? Dont throw that bean away, toss it in your bottle of vanilla. Waste not!
  • Beginning In Cricut Design Space

Lets go to Design Space. I already downloaded, sized and manipulated all of our fonts that were going to use today but Im still going to teach you how we did it. First, were going to download the fonts and install them on our computer. If you need help learning how to download fonts from Makers Gonna Learn to Cricut Design Space, be sure to check out this post: How to Upload 3rd Party Fonts and Cut Files to Cricut Design Space

Next, were going to Design Space. Hit Text and make sure you go to system fonts. The fonts that were going to use are Muffin and Fast Curve. Were going to type in our words Time to wine down using the two fonts that we would like to use.

Tap on the first text box which is Time to and were going to click Letter space and hit the minus sign to bring the letter spacing down. Select Actions and ungroup. Then we can move the letters exactly where we want them and click Attach. We will do the same thing with the rest of the text.

Once you have your letter placement the way you want it, a great tip is to select all of your layers and go over to align and center. That will make sure your whole file is exactly where it needs to be and all parts are lined up with each other.

Transfer Adhesive Vinyl Label To Surface

Before we transfer the vinyl label to the blank surface , theres a little prep work. Wash your hands very well, so you dont have extra oils.

Wipe the surface with an alcohol wipe, or spray alcohol a wipe clean with a cloth.

I know transferring vinyl can be intimidating. Its like you are holding your breath and hoping everything goes right.

And sometimes, even if you measure right, its just hard to keep a steady hand.

    Well

Do a happy dance because the method youre going to use will work 100%. Your vinyl labels will be perfect, no need to hold your breath.

For a perfect transfer, I like to use the hinge method.

    • Alcohol Wipe
    • Step 1

Step 1: Place transfer tape on the vinyl label.

Step 2: Use a scraper or squeegee to get the transfer tape to adhere to the label. I use it on the front and the back. Sometimes its hard for the transfer tape to pick up the vinyl.

Step 3: Find the spot where you want to place the label. I wanted to put the label in the center, so I had to find the middle of the label and the surface.

Trick: Fold from the start to the end of the label to find the exact middle. When you fold, you want to mark the carrier sheet, not the vinyl itself.

    • Step 2
    • Step 5
    • Step 6

Step 4: Use a piece of tape to secure the label on the surface. Then, lift transfer tape about a third or halfway through, ensuring vinyl is attached to it. If not, use the scraper and repeat.

Cut the backing sheet that was left over after lifting the vinyl with transfer tape.

    Applying The Glass Etch Cream:

DIY Personalized WINE BOTTLE LABELS | With a Cricut | Sticker Paper | Custom Gifts | Bridal Party

First, let me say, Etch All is usually white. I dont know why mine is black. So if your cream has turned black, dont worry. It still works. The black cream does not add a tint to the glass that it etches, it still works normally, just as if it were white.

Using a wood popsicle stick, apply the Etch All cream in big blobs. It is a thick cream that doesnt really drip so it should stay in the place that you put it. Cover the entire stencil with a thick coat and let it sit for 15 minutes.

After the 15 minutes is up, take that same popsicle stick and carefully scrape the Etch All cream off of the bottle, and put it back into the bottle.

Did you know you can reuse the cream because I have had this same bottle for about 10 years and I have done so many fun projects with it!

Take the bottle to the sink and carefully wash away what is left becuase any area the cream touches, it will etch.

Peel back the vinyl stencil and there you have your wine bottle etching!

I also made matching wine glasses!

Etching glass is really so easy and once youve done it, you will want to etch EVERYTHING, and I was having so much fun that I etched a couple more glass bottles.

I really wanted to see what the difference would be between the darker colored glass and the clear glass.

The green bottle matched the wine glasses as well.

Then I went rogue and created a different stencil using an image in Cricut Design Space that took no personalization, but I still love it.

How To Make Labels With Cricut Joy

onThis post may contain affiliate links.

While I do love to use my Cricut machines to and make fun arts and crafts for the kids, my primary Cricut projects over the years have been all sorts of pretty labels for practically every space in our home! And you guys cant seem to get enough of these label projects either. Many times, I have received messages asking how to make the same gorgeous labels but without the investment of a big Cricut machine and lots of supplies. I never really had a good answeruntil now. Enter Cricut Joy! Not only does this compact cutting machine make it easier to move about your home to accomplish organizing projects, but there are now all sorts of new, specially-designed materials for the Joy that make creating labels quicker and easier than ever before. Today, I want to show you how to make labels with Cricut Joy. Im breaking down three different methods and have lots of inspirational ideas so you feel ready and empowered to start labeling aaaall the things!

Decide Where Your Label Should Go

Before you can solve anything, youll need to acquire some information. First, figure out exactly where you want your label to stick to your container. Since the width of your container gradually changes, its important to measure exactly where a label needs to go or else your measurements could be wrong. This also means you should have an idea of whether you want a partial or full wrap for your label as that will greatly impact the width. Once youre set, use a pen, pencil, tape, or some other item to mark where the top, bottom, and sides of your label should go.

Applying The Vinyl To The Wine Glass

Were now going to remove the backing from our vinyl. If you have any problems doing this, just reapply this piece of transfer paper backing and you can burnish some more. Once youve removed the transfer paper backing, take your wine glass and just lay your vinyl onto the glass. Dont press it all just lay it down and then you can hold it up to make sure its even and before you start to burnish it down.

Grab your pair of scissors and start cutting along the transfer paper. Be sure not to cut any of the letters. This just makes it so much easier for the transfer paper to help your vinyl stick to your wine glasses.

Once done, take your index finger and your thumb and start slowly pressing all of your vinyl down. Once youre confident your vinyl is well adhered to your wine glass, pick a corner and pull your transfer paper straight down.

Repeat this process with your second wine glass.

What do you all think of these super cute wine glasses? I love them! Theyre so much easier to apply vinyl to than you probably originally thought. I hope that you learned something new and that you are way more confident in applying vinyl to wine glasses. These make beautiful gifts!

Use Adobe Illustrator To Create A Curved Dieline

In order to turn your measurements into an actual curved shape, youll need to do some geometry. Fortunately, theres a convenient online cone calculator that will do the hard work for you. All you need to do is plug in the height and widths from your container to generate the following measurements.

    • Arc angle
    • Radius 1
    • Radius 2

These numbers will allow you to create your exact label shape in Illustrator. First, take each radius and create a pair of circles that share a common center . Now you can use the drawing and transform tools to create a triangle that shares an apex point with the center of the two circles. The triangle should use the arc angle generated by the calculator and extend past the larger of the two circles. In the end, the two circles and triangle will intersect to create a curved dieline for your container.

How To Make Vinyl Labels With Cricut Joy

While Ive shown you two ways to make labels with Cricut Joy using brand new materials, I do want to point out that you can still make the very tried-and-true vinyl labels too!

Over the years, vinyl is the most common medium I have used to make labels. It can be cut in pretty much any size and shape . Its available in a huge variety of colors and finishes , and because its self-adhesive, labeling items in your home is as easy and peel-and-stick! Below are just a few examples of my favorite vinyl labels. Although I didnt make these projects with Cricut Joy, I could have made each and every one if the machine was available back then

I wanted to make a quick label for the basket that holds all my Cricut Joy supplies, and a vinyl label was a great option for the dark blue paper background.

I started by creating my label in Cricut Design Space. Since Joy is a word common in holiday graphics, I opted to use some pre-designed words rather than typing my own. Once you find pictures or words for your vinyl labels and have them sized for your container, click the green Make It button.

If youre using Smart Vinyl, use the instructions I have here to load your machine and cut your design. If you want to use non-Smart Vinyl you already have on hand, simply load the vinyl onto a Cricut Joy mat and feed it into the machine.

I simply transferred the gold vinyl Joy onto some navy blue cardstock and slid it into my favorite basket holders.
