Armand De Brignac Ros 30

Okay, so you know how we said 16 liters was huge? Well, Jay-Zs brand took things a step further with this mind-boggling 30-liter monster.

Yeah, that isnt a typo and the 2013 Armand de Brignac has earned the distinction of being the most expensive rosé champagne ever made.

It also contains the same amount as 40 standard bottles of champagne.

Standing over 4 feet tall and weighing over 100 pounds, this insane bottle is larger and heavier than many children, and it will cost more than even the most expensive foods in the world.

Only a very limited amount of this champagne was ever produced, and each bottle needed to be handcrafted by 8 artisans.

The very first bottle debuted at the Hakkasan Las Vegas, located in the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, where it was uncorked and served to lucky guests.

Although it is unlikely that this champagne will ever be re-produced, we have no doubt that Jay-Z will come up with something potentially even more extravagant and expensive in the future, so you may want to keep a close eye on this brand.

Wine Advocate 93 points – Tasted from magnum , the NV Brut opens with lovely matured brioche, toast and ripe fruit flavors. Fresh, pure and elegant on the palate, with beautifully matured flavors and an elegant creaminess I dont find in the other cuvees, the Gold is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier as well as the vintages of 2009, 2010 and 2012. The wine reveals good grip and mineral tension and drinks well as an aperitif or with seafood and fish. Tasted from L09B8, April 2018..June/2018

Wine Spectator 92 points – An elegant, creamy Champagne, with pretty apple blossom and spice notes leading to finely meshed flavors of ripe white cherry, whole-grain toast and spun honey, framed by fresh, citrusy acidity. Drink now through 2021. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. -AN.November/2017

Wine Enthusiast 91 points – A blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, this ripe, well-balanced wine has some toast that adds complexity and richness to the apple and lemon fruit, indicating a mature bottling. It is believed Cattier still owns part of the Armand de Brignac brand alongside Jay-Z, but specific details have not been disclosed.

Cattier, which has a long history of producing Champagne for others under licence, makes around 100,000 bottles of Armand de Brignac each year, representing only a small proportion of the familys total annual sales of 1 million bottles.

The family owns 33 hectares of vineyards and the split between grapes bought or owned is approximately 50%.

Emilien Boutillat, the winemaker, is one of the 14 people working on the Armand de Brignac brand.

He told that only the first portion of the press is used to ensure pristine juice, fresh flavours and the highest acidity possible.

The wines spend at least three years on lees and three to six months in bottle after disgorgement. Each one of the 100,000 bottles is dressed with a metal coating made of aluminium and finished by hand polished and fitted with four pewter labels.

The range is available from 75cl bottle to 30-litre Midas, and is believed to be the only Champagne to be available in a 30-litre bottle.

A Brief History Armand De Brignac

Buy ARMAND DE BRIGNAC ACE OF SPADE CHAMPAGNE BRUT GOLD 1.5LI

Armand de Brignac is a prestige Champagne produced by the Cattier family who has a history as an elite Champagne house in the tiny village of Chigny Les Roses. They have owned and cultivated the family vineyards since 1773.

The original de Brignac name was registered by the Cattier family in the late 1940s. Jean-Jacques recalls that it was chosen by his mother who had been reading a novel featuring a character named de Brignac.

It remained dormant for decades until at the turn of the 21st century the Cartier family began to set aside parcels of reserve wines for a new prestige Champagne Project. The first bottles of Armand de Brignac Brut Gold left the cellars in France in 2006.

The original registered name de Brignac was changed to Armand de Brignac for the new Champagne. This was required by the French Industry Group Comite Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne to avoid confusion with the village of Brignac just outside the Champagne Region.

Industry sources cannot agree whether Jay-Z had a financial stake in Ace of Spades from 2006 when Armand de Brignac Brut Gold was first introduced to the market, but he bought the company outright from Sovereign Brands in 2014. In 2021 he sold a 50% stake to Moet Hennesy the wine and spirits arm of LVMH.

The five Cuvee in the Armand de Brignac use the traditional Champagne grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot MeubRnier.

How To Drink Ace Of Spades

The Cattier Champagne house recommends a serving temperature of 6-8 centigrade. This can be achieved by placing the bottle in the refrigerator overnight or place in an ice bucket for half an hour before opening.

Use a flute or tulip-shaped glass and ensure that it is no more than two-thirds full.

Make sure that the glass is completely clean with no trace of washing-up products as this will cause the Champagne to lose its effervescence.

Follow the correct etiquette recommended by the Cattier experts by performing the following steps:

Start by looking at the Champagne, then bring the flute up to your nose and breathe in slowly to perceive the scents and aromas.

Finally. take a sip and keep it in your mouth for a few moments to discover the Champagnes personality.

Ace Of Spades Champagne Price Variations And Sizes

The Armand de Brignac more commonly known as the Ace of Spades was launched in 2006. In a video by Jay-Z Show Me What You Got released in October of that year Jay-Z is seen refusing a bottle of Cristal before he accepts the lavish gold Armand de Brignac bottle presented in a case.

The Champagne was immediately catapulted to fame and its first release quickly sold out. At around $300 it remains one of the most expensive, yet most desired bottles of Champagne in trendy clubs throughout the world.

Unlike Cristal and Dom Perignon it is a non-vintage Cuveecomprising 60% wines of the current vintage and 40% reserve wines from the previous two years. The total production is around 60,000 bottles annually which is relatively small.

In addition to the standard 750ml, the Ace of Spades also comes in 8 larger sizes from the 1.5 liters Magnum through Methuselahs to the 30-liter Midas Brut. The Midas was launched in 2011.

    Armand De Brignac Champagne

Armand de Brignac Champagne is a prestige Champagne brand owned by the Cattier family. The family has a rich history as an elite Champagne house in the tiny village of Chigny les Roses as they have owned and cultivated family vineyards since 1763. Today, Patriarch Jean-Jacques Cattier oversees the Chateau’s wine production with strictly limited annual yields, ensuring that the family’s artisanal winemaking traditions are kept alive in each bottle.

The Cattier cellars are among the deepest and oldest in the Champagne region and are classified by the Comité Interprofessional du Vin de Champagne and the Institut National des Appellations d’Origine. They have three styles of architecture represented in the caverns: Gothic, Renaissance, and Roman. Armand de Brignac is aged in a special, gated section of the deepest part of these cellars, 119 steps underground.

Centuries spent perfecting the art of Champagne are put to use in each Armand de Brignac cuvée. Armand de Brignac Champagne won praise from wine critics and connoisseurs around the globe: Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Brut Gold was voted No.1 Champagne in the world in a blind tasting of 1,000 brands in 2010. The 1959 vintage of Dom Perignon is a special and rare occasion for Moet & Chandon. The 69th Vintage represents an extraordinary year, punctuated by an early harvest that began on September 10th.

The grapes were perfectly ripe during the harvest, owing to the weather conditions that year which is rare in the Champagnewine region in France. The grapes are full-bodied with a lovely opulence, and the warm flavor introduces its powerful body before a bold taste reveals notes of fruit and vanilla.

The rich aroma is full of vibrant notes that include honey, licorice, and tobacco before giving way to an otherworldly mix dominated by dark chocolate with caramel undertones.

    What Exactly Is Champagne

Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Champagne

Champagne, by definition, is a sparkling wine that is produced exclusively in the eponymous Champagne region, in the north of France. The Champagne region is centered around three main towns, namely Reims, Épernay, and Aÿ.

To earn the right to call itself Champagne, a bottle of bubbly must also meet the Appellation dOrigine Controlée or AOC standards.

Strictly speaking, if its a bubbly wine from another region , its a sparkling wine, not Champagnethe name Champagne is protected by EU law. Note that some American and British sparkling wines use the word champagne to denote a sparkling wine that is similar to Champagne, but not from the Champagne region.

All Champagne is sparkling wine, but not all sparkling wine is Champagne

Even French sparkling wines from other regions in France are not technically Champagne but labelled as Cremant. Sparkling wines from other parts of the world are simply labelled sparkling wine. Prosecco from Italy, Cava from Spain, and Sekt from Austria and Germany are some of the most popular sparkling wines.

Generally speaking, however, for many people, champagne is just synonymous with sparkling wine.
