Local winery Murphy-Goode has launched a four-month-long nationwide search for the right person for A Really Goode Job. The new employee will get paid $10,000 a month, live rent-free in Healdsburg and receive a years supply of Murphy-Goode wine. Click through the gallery for more information.

There are no required qualifications for A Really Goode Job.” Instead, Murphy-Goode wants applicants to create a short video resume in which they explain their ideal role in the wine industry and what they would bring to the winery. The video should be uploaded to the application page by June 30, 2021.

The new Murphy-Goode employee will begin their year-long career by shadowing winemaker Dave Ready Jr. and will then be tasked with a variety of assignments depending on their interests, including “developing working relationships across functions of the winery” and “effectively promoting Murphy-Goode wines through various channels and events.”

Lindsay Perry is a Yardley, Pennsylvania native, but currently lives in Austin, Texas, working in sports marketing. Lindsay received scholarships to complete her WSET Level I & II through Wine Unify and the Roots Fund in 2020 and 2021 respectively, and she is looking to add her diverse voice to the ever-changing climate of the wine world. Working for Murphy-Goode Winery will present a unique challenge and represent a big pivot in my life. Ill be jumping into the wine industry in the best way possible. Veronica Hebbard, originally from Montgomery, New York, will be making her way to Sonoma by way of Orlando, Florida. She currently works as an engineer in the themed entertainment industry. As an engineer by trade, Veronica is most excited about being immersed in the science of winemaking and exploring sustainability and innovation initiatives. When the opportunity presented itself, I thought it was the most interesting way to make wine approachable for people who werent already in the industry. Joining Murphy-Goode will provide me the opportunity to navigate and harness this energy and passion and steer it into where my role might be in the wine industry, Hebbard said. Job Duties Are Tailored To Your Passion

Murphy-Goodes new hire should be ready to pursue passion, the company wrote.

For the first few months, work duties are intentionally vast, allowing the new hire to figure out which aspects of winemaking they are interested in. Shadowing winemaker Dave Ready Jr., the son of one of the companys founders, is a part of this exploratory process.

After this, Murphy-Goode wrote, it will work with the new employee to define their passions and carve out their place in the wine world.

We have a job that will instantaneously catapult you into the wine stratosphere, the company wrote.

More potential job duties include acquiring knowledge of vineyards and winery operations, and learning about the world of e-commerce.

The company also wrote that the hire will develop strong working relationships across functions of the winery, and work with teams to drive awareness and build demand for Murphy-Goode Winery.

The family-owned winery first launched the position in 2009 with an initial focus on documenting the job on social media, according to a company news release. The company, founded in 1985, decided to bring back the position this year as the country faces a new set of challenges.

The application, open to those 21 years or older authorized to work in the United States, requires a video resume explaining why the candidate believes this is their dream job.

The company will evaluate applications on role value, creativity, and design, applicable experience and skill set.

Candidates can apply for the role from now until June 30. The job will roughly begin in September.

The most important qualification for Murphy-Goodes A Really Goode Job is loving wine the position includes 30 cases of it.
