There are several ways that Amazon sells wine.
Firstly, listed as from;Amazon;itself. Then also from their;Fresh or Pantry;lines. However, there are also;third party sellers;that list their wines on . Usually, these will be;independant retailers that sell online;and augment their online stores with Amazon listings.
Due to an acceptable range of wines for drinking right now or in the short term, whatever the reason, on Fresh or Pantry. There are the usual highly recognisable brands from the supermarkets. Amazon is not necessarily an outlet for collectors seeking prestige wines and back vintages. However, even there amongst the Barefoot and Yellow Tail, is Peter Lehmann, Bollinger and Jadot. If you know what you are buying, of course there are wines that you can lay down too!
Where I find more interesting to shop is amongst the more unusual wines from normally under-represented countries and regions on offer.;;

Amazon Prime Will Deliver Wine To Your Door In 1 Hour
Pennsylvania has many beautiful things to be proud of: world-class universities and medical centers, scenic rivers and woods, gorgeous city skylines and championship teams.
But we don’t have wine at our doors in one hour from Amazon Prime.
The company is delivering it in other cities and states, so why not here?
Customers of , a grocery delivery service offered in;32 U.S. cities, can receive the goods in a short timeframe. No Pennsylvania city is on the Prime Now list.
And only 12 of those areas can receive wine, or beer and sometimes liquor, at their doors:
- Chicago
- San Francisco
- Seattle
So why aren’t any Pennsylvania cities on the list? Philadelphia is one of the largest cities in the country, Pittsburgh is big and likes wine and beer, and Harrisburg has Amazon warehouses all around it.
Amazon hasn’t immediately responded to PennLive’s questions about why Pennsylvania doesn’t make the cut, and whether it’s market conditions here or state approvals or both.

How Do I Find The Best Deals
Amazon consists of lots and lots of merchants from around the world, big and small. Not all of them offer great deals or high-quality products. As Wiznitzer says, hunt out educated reviews from professional critics, and do a little searching before you add something to the cart if youre uncertain.
You can also check several sites to see if the bargain is an actual sale price or a cleverly disguised everyday price. CamelCamelCamel, Honey and WikiBuy all offer price tracking alerts to let you know if an items price has actually dropped. Fakespot can also suss out whether a glowing review on a given product is legitimate.
States That Might See Wine From Amazon
New York.;New York allows for wine shipments from 20 states. But it does not allow for wine and food to come in the same package.
Alaska,;Florida,;Idaho,;New Hampshire. These states all allow wine shipments, but certain counties do not.
South Carolina, Texas, Arizona, Virginia, and New Mexico.;These states all have limits on how much wine per year each person can receive ranging from 24 bottles per month, to 24 bottles per year. Amazon has a six bottle per purchase now. But maybe it could alter that for people coming from certain states. Wyoming has a limit of two cases per month, too. But Amazon for some reason worked it out with this state.
Louisiana. Wine buyers have to pay a sales tax and the shipper;needs a permit.
As of 2011, it was legal to ship wine here, with an approval permit.
Of course, all of this might prove to complicated to make it worth Amazon’s while. It took Wine.com 10 years to turn cash positive, notes Bensinger, after getting fined by New York state for not following its rules and eventually going through bankruptcy. It might just make more sense to keep things simple.

Amazon Is The Largest Liquor Store You Never Knew About
And we thought was big news for the beverage alcohol industry. Not so much.
Amazon is now buying liquor licenses for warehouses dedicated to Amazon Prime alcohol deliveries with one of its more recent coups being the aquisition of a liquor license for its new warehouse in Colorado.
This is notable for several reasons.
First, Amazon has 140 warehouses throughout the United States . While Whole Foods gives Amazon 450 licenses to sell wine out of the grocery stores, having dedicated alcohol warehouses lets Amazon scale their liquor business much more quickly.
Amazon can buy and store more product, sell more alcohol, and service larger areas all without the overhead of having to stock shelves, merchandise, staff stores, etc. Its an ultra lean, ultra scalable liquor retail model. As a result, they can sell product at lower margin *and* offer consumers home/office delivery at very low cost.
Of the 30 cities that offer Prime Now delivery, these 12 deliver wine, spirits and sometimes liquor in 2 hours or less: Cincinnati, Chicago, Columbus, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Phoenix, Portland , Richmond, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle. Sounds like Denver will soon be added to that list.
Pay close attention to what Amazon is doing in your state. Staying ahead of the game is the only way to play right now.
