There are very few people in the wine world who “get it” and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.

Costco Red Wines To Look For In Your Warehouse Right Now

Its been a little while since we published a roundup story around some wine picks that might be available in your warehouse right now.

So I took a day and went to a handful of Costco stores around the Atlanta area to compile this list of wines, many of which weve reviewed, and others that weve tasted before elsewhere, but all wines that we recommend.

Feel free to add your recommendations in the comments below, and we hope this helps you find some good wines to try.

Vitiano Rosso: really hard to beat for only $7.99. ;A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauv, and Sangiovese. ;I just stocked up on these on my last visit. ;Our review.

Montes Cabernet: another screaming bargain for fans of big reds and South American mountain fruit. ;Cant go wrong here. ;Our review.

Honig Napa Cabernet: not inexpensive obviously at $39, but we thought it was a pleasant and enjoyable Bordeaux varietal blend. ;Our review.

El Puntido Gran Reserva Rioja: a lovely, elegant wine in a nice drinking window right now.

Monsanto Chianti Classico: one of our go-to wines for almost any occasion. ;Chianti Classico executed perfectly at a very reasonable price. ;Our review.

La Montesa Rioja: looks like the price dropped $1 since we reviewed it just a few months ago, making what was already a bargain even better. ;Our review.

Frank Family Cabernet: more classic Napa Cabernet, this one a little more accessible than the Insignia; a lovely wine. ;Our review.

And well try to do more of these round ups if you enjoy them.

What Is The Famous Wine Region Featured In The Movie Sideways

Troublemaker Red NV

Thats Santa Barbara.

The greatest attribute of Sideways is that it promoted Pinot Noir, which became very popular because of the movie.

The region of Santa Barbara offers a great variety of unique tasting options with over 120 different wineries to choose from. This region is off-the-beaten-track, but should not be underestimated. Sideways drew much-needed attention to this region and all that it has to offer.

No Trouble Drinking This Troublemaker

*** I received this wine as a sample. ***

I first reviewed Troublemaker by Austin Hope back in January 2012 and immediately fell in love.; It truly is trouble because it is so drinkable, while also being fairly high in alcohol .; Not only that, its one of those wines that I think aboutthat calls to me when Im looking for a red wine that I know is going to be good, rather than experiment with an unknown wine.; Sadly, though, its a wine that I have trouble finding in my local wine store, so while I think a lot about it,I dont indulge in very often.; Therefore, when I saw the newest release of Troublemaker at the local wine store in Duck, I grabbed it.

Troublemaker Blend 6

The Troublemaker Blend 6 is from Paso Robles California and is made with 50% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Petite Sirah, and 10% Zinfandel grapes.; The wine was a deep, inky purple.; On the nose, there were blackberries, black cherry coke, vanilla, and hints of nutmeg and tobacco.; In the mouth, there were blackberries, cherries, vanilla, and black pepper, with hints of strawberry and cocoa powder.; The wine had a medium-to-full body and tannins with medium acidity.

Question of the Day: Do you like full-bodied reds or do you prefer reds with a lighter body?

Where In California Is The Wine Country

The Californian wine country is in the North San Francisco Bay area, with over 800 wineries located all along this scenic route. The Bay area encompasses some of the world’s most famous wine regions, including Napa Valley and Sonoma.

The success of these famous regions within the Bay area is largely to do with the sound soil composition and ideal climatic conditions. Each region is fortunate to have a wide range of temperatures and soil types, allowing the brilliant variety of grapes to thrive here.

Tasting Notes For Troublemaker Red Blend

The grapes for Troublemaker are sourced from key vineyard sites throughout the Central Coast, adding to the complexity of the blend. The warm climate of Paso Robles specifically Creston, El Pomar, and Estrella Districts add body and depth to the wine. Other Central Coast vineyard sites were chosen for their unique characteristics, including dry farmed Zinfandel from Lodi, and Petite Sirah from Suisun Valley ultimately leading to a more complex blend.

Comprised of varietals that flourish in Paso Robles distinct growing region, Troublemaker consists of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Syrah is the backbone of the wine, setting the stage for a fruit-forward style and a full body. Sweet and bright red fruit flavors of Grenache blend with the rustic and lively flavors of the Mourvèdre. The Zinfandel adds its signature zing to round out the blend and Petite Sirah contributes to the deep ruby color.

This intensely rich wine is deep purple in color and radiates aromas of black fruit, cherry and spicy black pepper. On the palate, loads of vanilla, caramel and black currant gracefully evolve into soft supple tannins and a signature zing that balances the wine.
