Disneyland Food And Wine Festival Basics
When. Disneylands Food and Wine Festival takes place in early spring every year, usually spanning the spring break periods of most U.S. schools. In 2022, the festival dates run longer than ever from March 4 to April 26, 2022 a total of 54 days. The Festival happens daily and not just on weekends as was the case a few years ago, so even more visitors can enjoy the food and events.
What. The festival is a special event held in Disney California Adventure park where festival marketplaces are set up in strategic areas of the park. These marketplaces serve speciality food and drink that you cannot find at the Disneyland Resort the rest of the year. There is also plenty of live entertainment as well as special seminars for festival goers .
Where. Food & Wine is located entirely within Disney California Adventure park . The bulk of the activity is along the pier area, starting just past Carthay Circle Theater and extending past Goofys Sky School to the Festival Beer Garden. There is an additional mini-hub around the stage area in Hollywood Land as well, so dont miss this location. If you want to visit attractions in Disneyland park the same day you visit Food & Wine, remember that youll need a park hopper ticket.

Next Level Crackers And Cheese From Nuts About Cheese
Theres almost always some type of cheese plate at the festival but we usually skip it because it never seems like a good use of stomach space, but this years Next Level Crackers and Cheese is worth spending a Sip & Savor tab.
The buttery crackers have a flaky pie crust consistency, and the creamy cheese and cherry jam combo has a good balance of sweet, creamy, and tangy. I admit, I didnt taste the prosciutto spread, but we attributed that and its rare we say this to too much cheese. Theres also something slightly spicy going on, but I couldnt identify the source .
The only downside is that biting into the crisp cracker caused the soft filling to squish out the sides, but a simple plating change would have made all the difference: instead of being served as a sandwich, the spread, cheese, and jam could have been layered on each cracker separately.

Many of Californias cultures and regions are featured in the festivals smorgasbord of specialty dishes and experiences. A lineup of visiting and Disney chefs representing a range of communities will share their personal stories and cooking tips in culinary demonstrations, tasting seminars and signature events.

Peanut Butter And Jelly Mac
We cant talk about the 2022 Food & Wine Festival without mentioning the already-polarizing Peanut Butter and Jelly Mac, which definitely finds itself in a love it or hate it situation.
First of all, lets make one thing clear: this is not macaroni and cheese .
This dish is made with elbow macaroni, but thats where the similarity ends. Instead of cheesy bechamel, the noodles are coated in a sweet peanutty sauce which reminded us of Thai satay peanut dipping sauce and then topped with an even sweeter brown sugar streusel and strawberry crackle .
If you have the chance to try the PB& J Mac and whatever it is youre thinking thats great but I guarantee youll be sharing your story with somebody, and guess what theyre going to say: where did you have that? Chef Balogh said. I had it at California Adventure during Food & Wine. Boom. I win. Thats what were all about.
While we are certainly not in the love it camp, hate it seems a bit strong, and since the goal of Disneyland chefs was to introduce unique dishes, PB& J Mac certainly accomplishes that. However, we were left feeling a bit confused as its too sweet to be an entrée yet not quite sweet enough to be a dessert. The verdict: If youre an adventurous eater and have a tab to spare, you might as well give it a try.

Coming from a festival marketplace centered around garlic, this dish definitely delivers on the promise of a strong and stinky punch. The creamy potatoes topped with tender pieces of beef make this one of the most filling options of the festival. The chimichurri adds freshness, and the addition of fermented black garlic was a nice cheffy touch.
Jacobs only critique is that it was very heavy, and the chimichurri left a pool of oil on top.

If you couldnt already tell from the location and the name, the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival pays homage to the gastronomic bounty of the Golden State. Whether it be Festival Marketplaces highlighting California-fresh ingredients, dishes inspired by the states tapestry of cultural cuisines at different Disney California Adventure restaurants, or Friends of the Festival dining at Downtown Disney District, this food-driven party has it all.
No need to worry about guests with dietary restrictions or picky eaters, as a variety both vegan and vegetarian items will be on offer alongside more kid-friendly flavors. Its a great excuse to do some drinking at Disneyland.

If you do the math, the Sip and Savor Pass will only save you money if you plan to purchase food that costs more than $7.13 . Most of the food dishes cost $8-$8.50, but some are less, and most of the non-alcoholic drinks are about $6.
Using your pass wisely, you could use the 8 tabs for all $8.50 items and that would give you a total savings of $11 or $16 for Magic Key holders.

Where Is The Disney Food And Wine Festival 2022
Disney California Adventure Park is home to the food and wine festival at Disneyland Resort in California. With the current rules requiring reservations for the parks, be sure you have a park hopper ticket if you want to visit Disneyland and California Adventure Park on the same day. If you have a reservation for Disneyland, you wont be able to enjoy the festival without having a park hopper since it takes place at the other park.
There is another Disney Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World in Epcot in Florida. That festival takes place typically in the late summer to fall. 2022 dates have not yet been announced.

Glazed Bbq Pork Belly With Furikake
This dish clearly paid homage to L.A.s Korean culinary influences with the sweet, tangy, and umami-filled BBQ sauce. I find pork belly too fatty , Jacob really enjoyed the extremely tender and perfectly cooked pork.
My other son lives in Honolulu, so the creamy mac salad reminded us of our favorite Hawaiian comfort food but was elevated with the spicy togarashi and salty furikake topping.
