As a classic Australian red blend, 19 Crimes The Banished is perfect for long-term aging. It is one of those types of wines that can be safely stored away and uncorked after a few years. In the meantime, it will have developed a myriad more aromatic characteristics. As an off-dry red, it is ideal for aging. The bottle should be sealed with a cork and stored at a constant temperature and humidity. Direct sunlight or artificial light should also be kept away as they may spoil the wine. 19 Crimes wine name is derived from when England once shipped convicts to penal colonies in Australia between 1788 and 1868. 19 Crimes is based on some of the offenses that made a person eligible for automatic transportation to the penal colonies, although many other crimes resulted in this punishment. All of the 19 Crimesâ wine bottles feature photos of real criminals that were transported to Australia.

Unfortunately, 19 Crimes wine is not vegan. In fact, 19 Crimes says so themselves in an email response to Barnivore Vegan Booze Guide. They stated that their red wines are not vegan as they are likely to be clarified with fining agents such as egg albumin, casein from milk, gelatin, and isinglass, the latter of which is a fish-derived fining agent.

These fining agents make it clear that 19 Crimes Wine is not vegan. So, if youre a vegan who enjoys the occasional glass of wine, 19 Crimes is not the brandfor you.
