Where To Eat In Napa Valley

CALIFORNIA WINE COUNTRY // Napa Valley Wine Tasting

Bottega This spot in Yountville ranks right up there with my favorite dinner spots anywhere. Celebrity chef Michael Chiarello brings his top notch chef skills to this amaaaazing contemporary californian-italian restaurant in an atmosphere so uniquely Napa. Check out their incredible wine list and think of me when you order a glass of Nickel & Nickel merlot. The Nickels are great friends with Bottega, and its actually where I had my very first glass of my now-favorite wine.

RH Yountville

RH Yountville This chic new contemporary restaurant in Yountville is an instant favorite. Each table is adorned with an over-the-top chandelier, and the beautiful ambiance and decor is matched with the delicious menu. Order the crispy artichokes, the burrata, and definitely try their signature bellini! I also recommend going a little early for a drink at their bar it is adorable! This is the perfect date spot in Napa.

Farmstead This farm-to-table restaurant in Rutherford is an amazing spot, and my go-to every time Im in Napa. Think all-american food with a contemporary California twist. I always start with the grilled artichoke appetizer or the meatballs, and I recently had their barbecued ribs with mac and cheese . You cant go wrong with anything on their menu. And save room for dessert here because it is delicious! Another one of my favorite things about this place- their outdoor bar area with fire pits at night. Not to mention wine on tap. Because, Napa.

The history of winemaking in Napa Valley dates back to the mid-19th century. Less than a century later, this area had become the number-one wine-producing region in all North America. By the late twentieth century, Californian wines were at the top of many international ranking lists, often surpassing the ones produced in more famous wine-producing regions like Rioja or Bordeaux.

Napa Valley spans about 30 miles, from Napa to Calistoga. As it couldnt be otherwise, most of the tourist attractions in the region gravitate around its celebrated wine culture.

The Best Small Producer Wine Tastings In Napa / Sonoma

Best for: Napa honeymooners, those who LOVE wine and are looking for the best of the best in the valley, and are looking to discover new small production boutique, family run wineries.

If youre looking for a winery that will blow your mind , Palmaz is it. Their tagline is the fusion of tradition and technology and thats exactly what tasting there is about. It is a GORGEOUS winery is tucked away all by itself in Napa and is owned by an Argentinean family, who have a love for food, and, of course, meat!! Their legendary Argentinean cookout parties are what club members rave about, and when you join their wine club you even get a beautiful traditional steak knife. Visit in the Summer and youll get to taste their small production rose, which I think is one of the best roses in the Valley.

I recommend Palmaz to anyone looking for a really unique tasting, with AMAZING wines.

Another exclusive, blow-your-mind tasting I love is Cornell Vineyards. Youll wind your way up Spring Mountain to this absolutely stunning property, with no other winery in sight. It feels straight out of a movie of Napa / Sonoma in the 70s. Tractors ride around the property checking the grapes as you get poured a glass of Dom Perignon to kick off the tasting by one of the members of Cornells intimate team of 4 people. The views are UNREAL and youll taste their DELICIOUS cabernet sauvignons, and feel like youre at someones home.

Go To Sonoma Over Napa If You Want:

Variety. In both the types of wineries, types of wine, and things to do! In Sonoma Valley and Sonoma Coast, youll find so many different wine varietals to taste, whereas Napa is mostly focused on Cabernet Sauvignon.

No-frills. If you dont want or need the grandeur or the glam of Napa, and prefer family-owned, farm-style wineries that are more about the wine, and less about the tourism, youll love Sonoma.

The Coast.Sonoma also has the coast!!! .

This would be a first time trip for my husband and I. We are looking to stay for 5 nights, split between two towns. We like a little of everything….biking, shopping, eating and of course would want to do some wine tours. If you had 5 days to stay, which towns would you choose? Thanks for the feedback.

the Napa Valley.

Or, if you want to drive around a bit, you could spend 3 days in the Napa Valley, then drive over to Healdsburg and spend 2 days there .

It all comes down to which kinds of wines you like the best– and what kind of experiences you want.

The Napa Valley has a *huge* assortment of things to do: Balloon rides, a zip line, hiking, biking, cooking classes, wine tasting, tours of wineries, amazing restaurants– you could literally spend months here and not cover everything .

Our advice: Figure out what you most like/want to do, then choose your location based on its proximity to your preferred activities.

Oh, and if you haven’t had a chance to read TripAdvisor’s Napa FAQs , you’ll find a treasure trove of info, including one topic called, “Best town to stay in? How about restaurants?”.

Am Wine Tour & Tasting At The Signorello Estate

There are tons of vineyards/wineries to pick from for a tour/tasting. You can find some of the Best Vineyards to visit in Napa Valley here!

We picked Signorello Estate because it is a small, family-owned vineyard offering private tour and tasting experience.

Your experience begins with a welcome glass of wine and a driving tour of their estate vineyards. The tour gives you an opportunity to see the grapes on vine up close and learn so much about the history of wine making and heritage of the estate. We saw different varieties of merlot, chardonnay and cabernet grapes and learnt all about their harvesting process from vine to wine!

The tour is followed by a seated tasting experience of some extraordinary Signorello wines. My favorites were their two varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon Padrone & Signori . The wines are thoughtfully paired with cheese, dried fruits and nuts to enhance your tasting experience.

It was a day well spent among the vines and I recommend this as a must-do activity when you visit Napa Valley.
