Phil Capriccio is the owner of Garvey Wholesale Beverage in Rosemead. Founded in 1967 by his father, Fred Capriccio, Phil has grown up and worked in the beverage business throughout his entire life. In 1996, Phil founded San Gabriel Beverage Group which is a company that helps develop new beverage products, and bring them to the American Market. One of the products developed and brought to US market is El Conde Azul, a premium Tequila in a magnificent bottle. The distillery in which El Conde Azul is produced is owned and operated by Melly Barajas. She is the only woman in Mexico to own and operate her own distillery.

- Real tequila is only produced from blue agave, the common name of Agave tequilana. The plant is a succulent, but is not a cactus. Tequila is Mexicos best known drink worldwide it comes from the municipality of Tequila in Jalisco, it is also a product with designation of origin controlled, produced only in five states of Mexico and regulated by the Mexican Official Standard NOM-006-SCFI-2012.
It is made from fermented and distilled juice of Agave tequilana weber variedad azul or blue agave, distillation of other varieties of this plant produces mezcal but tequila can be obtained only from the blue agave. Juices may be enhanced and blended together, in the formulation, with other sugars provided they do not exceed 49% of the composition, under the terms established in the regulations. Mixtures in cold are not allowed.

Pure or 100% agave: the product is not enriched during the fermentation with sugars other than those obtained from agave tequilana weber variedad azul grown in the territory specified in the designation of origins Declaration.
