About Rock Of Ages Winery And Vineyard

Before Kevin Moore was a winemaker, he was a stockbroker, an importer, and the owner of Hard Rock Marble & Tile. But perhaps more importantly for the history of Rock of Ages Winery, Kevin Moore was a child who grew up on a farm in North Carolina. After all his other pursuits led to success, he earned a degree in Enology and Viticulture from Surry Community College and chased a lifelong dream by returning to that childhood farm and planting grapes. Now, he and his wife, Kim, ferment more than 17 varietals on their land and create over 30 wines, offering tastings in their Old Englishstyle tasting room.

Rock of ages wine is very good, went for a tasting and Jim the wine tasting host was the best. He was hilarious and very knowledgeable about the wines. He is so friendly and made the visit! I purchased 3 bottles of wine, and a glass. Definitely my new place to come for tasting mainly because of Jimmy!

Small tasting room with one person operating and to wait 30 minutes+. No crackers , spit tune or anything to use when tasting wine. Very disappointed in overall experience and wouldn’t recommend. Did not like wines at all.

Very fun rainy Sunday afternoon place to go. Would be beautiful here on a sunny day but had its own beauty even in the rain.Wines very good and many choices of reds, whites and even sweet wine options. Our wine server was very knowledgeable of the vineyards and viniculture. Very pleasant conversation.Highly recommend this place.
