On our estate Prince Hill Vineyard, the new tasting room is a short drive up Worden Hill Road and overlooks the town of Dundee. It has stunning 360-degree views of Oregons wine country with Mount Hood and Mount Jefferson in the distance. Were lucky to call this place home and hope youll plan a visit soon.

Whether it is an afternoon stroll in the valley or a relaxed evening, for every occasion you can enjoy a glass of wine here in Eugene. You can enjoy all varieties of wines in the many tasting rooms that overlook vineyards. At urban wine bars, you can enjoy a delectable pairing of the freshest food straight from the farm and aged wines straight from the barrel.
Wine Tasting Day Trip Begins With Our Tasting At De Ponte Cellars
The Dundee area is known for excellent wine with a laid-back tasting experience. You may taste in a barn, on a deck overlooking the vineyards, or in a small tasting room lined with barrels. There are more elegant and larger settings, but I love sticking to the small producers with the more intimate tasting experiences. Many times the person telling you about the wines is a member of the winemaking family.
When I first visited wineries in Dundee, most were in plain sight of Hwy 99W, which ran straight through the little town. I remember when Duck Pond Cellars opened and we were wine tasting novices. The tasting room wasnt crowded and the tastings were free. I loved the ornithological art on the labels and, at the time, selected my wine according to the color of the wine and the beauty of the duck. But now there are at least 100 vineyards in the area, and most of the tasting rooms require reservations and a tasting fee. And, my friends and I have learned and grown with the area and I now no longer buy my wine because of the beauty of the label!

What We Do Before During And After Your Patronage:
1. All who work at the Dundee Wine Library will wear gloves and masks.
2. Your safety area will have been sanitized before you arrive, and we will sanitize it after you leave.
3. Wine glasses will have been washed in a special high temperature glass washing machine and handled by glove and mask.
Last but not least, while the above is a sanitation protocol, we are doing this because we care about your safety, our safety, and the safety of people we all meet later. We do this with love and appreciation for us all and so we can continue to meet in the future in a healthy and lively manner. You will not get Covid-19 here!

We will be following Governor Browns Phase One Reopening Guidance. In addition to that safety protocol, the following procedures will occur at the Dundee Wine Library. Some of our protocols are more strict to make sure we all remain as safe as possible, for example, we observe a 13 foot separation of parties. We are on eight acres, and our seating arrangements are around the property. Indoor seating is very limited, so it is important to call for an appointment.
1. Call and request appointment and venue. We will send you a copy of this protocol and a map of the safety areas.
2. When you arrive, you may park where you requested. For example, if you are in the Greenhouse or Tortoise area, you can park there. If you are up by the winery, please park in the parking lot. Put your mask on before leaving your vehicle.
Wine Tasting In Portland
The city of Portland might not seem like a great destination for a wine tasting in Oregon tour but that is not the case. Since it is in the vicinity of the Van Duzer corridor there are a dozen or so vineyards near the city. In fact, the wine tasting scene is so good here that you will often find it clubbed with other activities that make it an ideal day out. You will be surprised to find that some of the most reputed wines come from Portland.

The Argyle Tasting House
You could say that were in the business of reincarnation here at Argyle. The original winery in Dundee, Oregon was once home to a hazelnut processing plant. In 1987, we started calling it home, trading in filberts for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling grapes. The very room where all of our wines were crafted for nearly 30 years is now the Argyle Tasting House.

Taking Advantage Of The Bypass On Your Wine Tasting Day Trip From Portland
On my last visit, several years ago, we were frustrated with the back-up of traffic in little Dundee. This time, the bypass built to relieve congestion on Highway 99W from Newberg to Dundee was open. We could avoid much of the traffic coming from Portland by taking the four-mile expressway extending from Highway 219, south of Newberg, to Highway 99W. There was much more countryside to see and the traffic flow was so much better.

All it takes for an excellent day trip from the Portland area is a winery appointment, a great idea for lunch, and some good friends. My friend had a wine club selection to pick up at De Ponte Cellars in Dundee and since I had been to this scenic winery overlooking the vineyards before, I readily said yes to going. Our wine tasting day trip appointment was made for a weekday at 11 am just when the tasting room opened, strategically timed to have lunch after a leisurely tasting. A conveniently located town, Dundee has been one of Oregons most frequented spots for wine tasting. Located off Highway 99W you will find a host of wine tasting rooms on either side. Almost all of Oregons famous wineries have a wine tasting room in Dundee but that has not dissuaded local winemakers. You will still find plenty of great vineyards in and around Dundee Hills.

Featuring magnificent views and a historic tasting room, Four Graces Winery is a must-visit if youre after splendid wines and times. The charming farmhouse on the property was meticulously renovated to become a quaint tasting room that feels like your home away from home.
Tastings cost $25 and include samples of 6 of their scrumptious signature wines, so make sure you book an appointment! You can also pre-order a charcuterie board for your visit if you fancy a bite to eat with your wine.
