Who says you have to get out of town to enjoy vineyard views? The aptly named Hilltop Hacienda overlooks miles of vineyards, but is still walking distance to Brown Butter Cookie Company downtown Paso Robles! Its sort of like Hannah Montana was talking about: its the best of both worlds.
The five-bedroom house boasts a gorgeous outdoor hot tub, a private sauna, plenty of entertaining space, a dream kitchen, a dreamy soaking tub, and my personal deck goals.

Downtown Paso has dozens of affordable and approachable tasting rooms, so you can do a tasting tour on foot before stumbling home safely to your accommodation. Living in the Bay area, I am luckily very familiar with wine tasting in northern California. There were certain things that I actually preferred in Paso Robles over Napa Valley and Sonoma.
- Paso Robles was very dog-friendly. Almost all of the wineries in the area allow dogs on leash during wine tastings.
- Paso Robles feels more secluded and hidden than Napa Valley. Napa Valley has double the amount of wineries than Paso Robles and is a little more congested and touristy than Paso Robles.
- You can find cheaper accommodations, wine tastings, and dinners than Napa Valley and Sonoma.

Last Minute Hotel Options Paso Robles
Sometimes you just don’t get around to planning. When you find yourself on the road to Paso Robles with no confirmed hotel room, we recommend booking at one of these two. They are both very nice hotels. The only drawback is the location. The hotels are directly off the highway.
That said, these hotels are centrally located for wine tasting. They have nice rooms. The Bellasera is generally the nicer of the two, but if you are a Hilton member, the Hampton Inn has some nice perks.
While these aren’t the best Hotels in Paso Robles, they offer a pleasant place to stay in a pinch.
