Skouras 2019 Zoe Red Wine Peloponnese Greece

This super affordable and energetic blend of 90% Agiorgitiko and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon really took me by surprise when I first tasted it. I often expect Greek reds to be powerful and dense because of the hot Greek sun, but this delightful and fairly light red is vibrant, spicy and fresh with juicy red cherry and plum fruits. This is an easy drinking red that will pair well is a wide variety of foods and can even be served slightly chilled for dinners on warm summer nights.

George Skouras was born in Argos, one of the oldest towns in Europe. It has 3,000 years of winemaking culture and history. George studied agriculture at the University of Dijon in Burgundy, France. There, his experience with the local Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes cast a spell on him. He graduated from Dijon with a degree in enology, gaining experience by working in many classic wine-producing regions in France, Italy and Greece.

He had a dream of creating Domaine Skouras which materialized in 1986, starting with a small winemaking facility in Pyrgela, located on the outskirts of Argos. He then created a boutique winery in the Nemea Appellation in the village of Gimno. Skouras final winery was established in 2004 in Malandreni, also in the Nemea Appellation. The new infrastructure increased capacity and technical capabilities, but Skouras has kept his traditional philosophies of making his wines.

Canada Election: 3 Housing Stocks To Buy Today

Last month, Id discussed how some of the major federal parties planned to tackle Canada housing ahead of the election. Each party has drawn attention to affordability and supply issues, but their respective proposals will do little to change the current environment. Investors should not sweat ahead of the September 20th election date. Today, I want to look at three housing stocks that are worth buying right now. Lets dive in.

Tech Stocks To Buy During The Correction

WINES from Chile. ZOE winemaker

The tech sector was the first to recover after the 2020 pandemic. The S& P/TSX Capped IT Index reached its pre-pandemic valuation in less than three years. The recovery momentum carried the sector up quite sharply and peaked in August before sliding down almost 12%. It went through another such cycle, about 32% growth and a 12% dip.

If the sector is to repeat the same pattern, the timeline would be now because the sector has already risen 34% from its last dip. And if a correction is coming, there are two stocks that should be on your radar.

Why You Should Buy The Dip In These Top Alternative Lenders

Home Capital Group is one of the largest alternative lenders in Canada. Shares of this housing stock have climbed 21% in 2021 as of close on September 9. However, the stock has dropped 3.2% over the past month.

The company unveiled its second-quarter 2021 results on August 13. Adjusted net income rose 14.3% from the prior year to $73.9 million, or $1.44 per share. Home Capital posted mortgage originations of $2.13 billion up a whopping 42% from the second quarter of 2020. Single-family mortgage originations climbed to $1.83 billion compared to $1.33 billion.

Shares of this housing stock last had a very attractive price-to-earnings ratio of 7.7. Now is a great time to jump on the dip.

Equitable Group is another top alternative lender. Its shares have increased 44% in the year-to-date period. The stock has been in a holding pattern over the last month and is still down from its peak in the first half of August.

Investors got a look at its second-quarter 2021 results on July 28. The company reported net earnings of $70.8 million or $4.05 per share up 35% and 33%, respectively. Cheap Wines From Trader Joes

Anyone minding their wallet knows that they can always count on Trader Joe’s to provide affordable options for everything from healthy snacks to beauty products . And when it comes to budget-friendly wine, the beloved grocery store chain isn’t making an exception. Of course, there’s the infamous “Two-Buck Chuck,” aka TJ’s Charles Shaw label wines that retail for just $2.99, but if that’s not your cup of tea â er, wine â there are plenty of other options below the $10 mark that even wine aficionados would happily sip.

Yes There Are Sparkling Red Wines That Taste Good

Zoe jakes answers for ya!

When I was in college I had a roommate whom I loved dearly, but who had incredibly different taste from me. I whipped cream by hand while she bought a tub of Cool Whip. I drank red wine while she drank fruity vodka concoctions whose names shouldnt be repeated in polite company.

So, when one day she brought home a bottle of sparkling red wine that she was over the moon about, I was skeptical. Plus, red wine isnt supposed to be fizzy, right?

What she had was a bottle of cheap Lambrusco: fizzy, cloying, and about on par with a wine cooler as far as complexity of flavor goes. My skepticism was confirmed and my opinion on sparkling red wine was set.

That is, until a number of years later, when I was visiting a family friend of ours who was passing through Vermont. Our friend Karen and her husband Paul own a vineyard in Southern Australia where they make really beautiful handcrafted wines. Karen was on a sales trip in Canada and she popped down into the U.S. so my mom and I could meet up with her to say hello.

She brought us a bottle of sparkling wine that we all split, and I was floored. The difference between this sparkling Shiraz and the Lambrusco Id tasted half a decade earlier couldnt have been starker. The Shiraz was effervescent, and awash with a complex mix of inky berry, violet, pepper, and oak flavors.

But, lets have a look at the types of sparkling red youre most likely to run into out there and try to figure out how to navigate.

A Private Banking Company

If you are looking for a tech stock that is already moving downward but still packs excellent growth potential, Nuvei is the way to go. The Montreal-based company has already grown its market value by about 238% in about a year since its inception, and its already aggressively overpriced. The stock has started to dip, but it has only gone down about 10% yet.

It might be a good idea to keep an eye on Nuvei and wait for the stock to dip more. Its improbable to fall enough to become attractively valued, but a sizeable discount on a stock like Nuvei is not something you should miss. The company is already aggressively expanding. It has completed about three acquisitions in the last two months alone. The stock is also in a solid position to take advantage if crypto is established as a viable medium of exchange.

The Best Winery Website Designs

Having a well-designed winery website is just as important as the wine your company makes.

A website designed with the latest design trends, easy access to wine shopping, and unique design elements will help you stand out from your competitors and turn a website visitor into a real life customer.

The most important aspects of any well-designed winery website is to:

  • have a mobile friendly design that is responsive so that no matter the device, be it a desktop, tablet, or phone, your website will look and function properly.
  • have proper onsite SEO implemented so you have the best chance of ranking for winery searches in your area.
  • To help you brainstorm design ideas weve compiled a list of the 12 best winery websites. We also included one not-so-good website just so you can be doubly sure you avoid making the same mistakes!

    Corvelia Cabernet Sauvignon $999

    La Tribu Winery, Zoe Winemaker

Have you heard mention of “oaky” wines but have no idea if that’s what you’re into? Edwards-Younger can help. She offers, “If you are a bourbon drinker or an anejo tequila drinker, this means that you like the flavor of oak! You enjoy notes of butterscotch and vanilla.” Sound like you? According to the sommelier, regions like California, Spain, and Argentina are all known for their oaky reds. This cabernet, hailing from California’s central coast, will be up any oak-lover’s alley.

How To Not Design Your Winery Website

Unfortunately for CADE Winery, we decided to include their website in our list to showcase some design flaws wed recommend avoiding.

In their case, the over-used and often mistakenly placed use of white space makes for an awkward design experience. Were left wondering, did something not load right? Additionally, the font size used is a bit small, making it more difficult than it needs to be for visitors to read your content . Their wine shop showcases too much information and forces users to continuously scroll down to view the wine products.

Remember, the easier it is for users to navigate and view your wines, the better your odds will be of turning a visitor into a customer!

One More Canada Housing Stock To Snatch Up In September

Bridgemarq Real Estate is an Ontario-based company that provides services to residential real estate brokers and REALTORS across Canada. Investors who want a housing stock that boasts strong income should look no further. Shares of Bridgemarq have increased 13% in 2021. The stock is down nearly 1% month over month.

In Q2 2021, the company delivered revenue growth of 22% to $14.0 million. Net earnings came in at $0.9 million, or $0.22 per share up from a loss of $9.2 million in the second quarter of 2020. Best of all, its board of directors declared a monthly distribution of $0.1125 per share. That represents a monster 8% yield.

    Domaine Skouras Zoe Rose

The 2020 Domaine Skouras Zoe Rose is joy in a glass. This was one of my favorite dry roses last year, and it will take that title again this year.

Theres so much to like about this wine. Gorgeously aromatic, packed with flavor, yet zesty and definitely dry, its nearly impossible to find a fault with this delicious Greek pink.

    2020 Domaine Skouras Zoe Rose

Please buy some of this before Josh takes it all home!

To place your order, stop by the store or to order through our online store.

The new batch of dry roses are finally landing! Sorry they are late this year, but we dont have any control over the global shipping delays that are afflicting wine and other imports. Trust me, it was worth the wait! Domaine Skourass rose is always one of the more exotic and fragrant roses, and the new release definitely lives up to that description. A blend of 70% Aghiorgitiko and 30% Moscofilero, this one exudes gorgeous aromas and flavors of rose petal, ripe cherry and raspberry, and honeysuckle and herb.

Despite being slightly deeper in color than a Provencal rose, this one is completely dry and wonderfully zippy and zesty. And dont be dissuaded from trying this one because you dont know the grapes or Greek wines. Domaine Skouras is one of the countrys most trusted producers, and we stock several of their other wines. Plus, Greek wines are experiencing a bit of a renaissance these days, and they are more popular than ever. Taste this one, and you will know why.

Claire Patelin Sauvignon Blanc Ctes De Gascogne $599

    Zoe D’Amato: Travel and Food

One thing that can tremendously help you find a bottle you’re bound to love is knowing which regions are known for what type of wines. Knowing a little bit of geography can inform you on a wine’s acidity. Love a tart white wine? Sommelier Floreana Edwards-Younger has some advice. “The closer the grapes are to the north or the south pole, the colder the grapes are when they are growing. The end result is that cold weather equals high-acid grapes. This translates into wine flavors. Look for white wines from cold regions in Germany, France, Italy, or New Zealand â especially Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, or Pinot Grigio. They will be crisp and refreshing.” This bright Sauv Blanc from the Gascony wine district should fit the bill.

    Chateau Gromel Bel Air $799

Dustin Lancaster, a Los Angeles-based restauranteur who owns a handful of acclaimed wine-sipping spots agrees that knowing what comes from where can be to your benefit. He says, “I always look for old-world regions that are notoriously good at making wine. For example, this doesn’t mean that Chateauneuf-du-Pape or Bordeaux wines will always be excellent, but you can bet that these types of regions have really old vines and centuries worth of practice.”

If you want to give an old world wine a whirl, try this French Bordeaux, which happens to be one of TJ’s top sellers. And don’t let a traditional-looking label fool you: according to Lancaster it’s the overly-designed ones to potentially be wary of. “I avoid ridiculously catchy or poppy labels that look like they were made for Instagram,” he elaborates, “chances are that’s exactly what they are made for.”

M Chevallier Carte Noire Cava $599

If it’s bubbly you’re after, don’t assume that you have to decide between spending a fortune and getting a regrettable hangover from a less-than-stellar bottle. You can still indulge while not overspending. Silkowski DeAscentiis has a money-saving solution for buying bubbles. “My go to for sparkling wine on a budget is Spanish Cava, especially if you typically find Italian Prosecco too sweet,” she says, “It’s made in the same method as Champagne, so it’s similar in taste, but you’re paying less.” Even at under $6, this cava is likely to impress even your discerning friends’ palettes.

    Albero Organic Monastrell $699

Another thing to be on the lookout for is anything labeled organic. As winemaker Rachel Silkowski DeAscentiis of Say When Wine explains, “‘Organic’ is another one of those indicators on labels that can help you decide. Not all organic wines are good but the designation could indicate that there was a level of attention in the farming that goes beyond mass-produced wines.” And if, like her, you enjoy rich red wines that typically come from warmer climates, this Monastrell is a perfect option.
