Where To Buy Fulchino Wine

Don't Miss

The Secret Is The Land Itself

Tuesday, September 26th: Fulchino Vineyard

We believe in letting the vine and its fruit express itself. We are translators for what has already been created. Our joy is in seeing others enjoy our wine as a food, a medicine as Hippocrates said, and to enjoy it with their families and friends. Much is said of terroir and what the earth contributes to a wine but we can add something more intangibles While nearby cities to our south, east and north bustle with activity, a timeless feeling engulfs the atmosphere hovering over and around our vines. A timeless quality exists here that brings us all back to another time seemingly gone by. Here hustle and bustle no longer matter and traditions that go back in our family for centuries have resurfaced.

Hollis Couple Finds Wine Business Booming

HOLLIS Al Fulchinos fondest childhood memories are of his Italian grandfather, a self-taught man who knew how to plant a garden, make wine, repair the house, and make an honest dollar by selling bleach he mixed in his basement.

The happiest times I had were around my grandfather, Fulchino said.

It was those happy memories, combined with Fulchinos love of gardening, interest in horticulture, and appreciation for wine, that convinced him to open a vineyard and nursery four years ago on Pine Hill Road with his wife, Susan.

The Fulchinos, who have lived in Hollis for almost 23 years, purchased the property about 18 years ago, and began turning it into a vineyard and nursery about four years ago.

For years, Al Fulchino ran a landscaping business he also operated a group of convenience stores and some art galleries before he and his wife decided to turn their gardening hobby into a business.

Its where our passion is. We wanted to be outdoors in the sunshine every day, working hard to keep in good shape, Fulchino said during a recent tour of the vineyard.

When they started, the venture hardly looked promising: It takes several years and inordinate attention to plants, soil, the weather, and more to establish a vineyard, produce grapes, and make wine.

And haste makes waste.

Several years into it, our kids look at it and say, Where did this come from? Fulchino said, recalling how unpromising his fields had looked as a field of pumpkins.

Better wine than your best snobby vineyard! The vineyard where upon first visit my companion, when offered a glass of red to taste replied, “Oh, no thank you. I really don’t care for red wine”.About an hour later we were leaving with $180.00 in a case … mostly reds! -)Terrific wines and wonderful, down-home people! Jeff O & Ann S

Outstanding place! A group of us having visited this winery today. We were having a school reunion and this was an attraction on our itinerary…Fulchino winery and vineyard has outstanding wines to taste and I state that having just lived in Italy for a year where wine and vineyards are commonplace…Don’t miss the experience!

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather Andrew Fulchino, Al Fulchino has always held a fascination farming and winemaking. When he inherited his grandfathers wine press he started to experiment with his own wines and decided that he needed his own vineyards to realize his dreams. Once the vineyards were planted and the winery built Al could concentrate on making exceptional wines. Visitors are welcome to come and experience a tasting at the winery, where you can purchase a variety of cheeses, charcuterie and crackers to accompany your tasting of signature blends, red and white cultivars. The vineyard is also home to a nursery where you can buy an assortment of garden plants.
