Three varieties of pinot noir, a pinot comer made from organic grapes, and pinot grigio can all be purchased. In addition to Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, and Cabernet Sauvignon, we will offer a variety of other grape varieties. Most organic wine grapes lack antioxidants, such as resveratrol, which can help you live longer, and thus have a heartier appearance. Trader Joes also carries organic breads, grains, frozen foods, soups, and condiments. A grape addition to charcuterie board can be used for both cooking and snacking.

People are becoming more aware of the environmental and health benefits of drinking organically produced wine, which is resulting in an increase in demand for organic wines. We Thought That The Shaw Wines Outpaced Their Two

So how did Shaw compare to its “Two Buck Chuck” counterpart? We picked out a few key differences.

For one, Shaw’s white wines were “far better, but the reds were not as good” as their non-organic rivals. But as a whole, reviewers wrote that the organic wines were “more cohesive” and felt “fancier” than the “Two Buck Chucks,” despite being somewhat “less flavorful.”

“None were undrinkable, and that is a positive in and of itself,” one taster wrote.

And on an aesthetic note, we also enjoyed Shaw’s branding, with one taster describing its bold, sans-serif label as “very nice.”

One reviewer who hadn’t attended our previous Charles Shaw tasting came to a different conclusion.

“The primary note in all of these wines: alcohol. Sure there’s a difference, but in the end you’re not really buying $4 for the flavor.”

Rare Earth Cabernet Sauvignon

Rare Earths 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon has a very bold flavor, making it stand out amongst other affordable cab blends. It has a fruity and vanilla essence with a very smooth finish that reminds me of amaretto flavors.

This medium-bodied blend was so easy to drink! Its sweet enough to balance out the acidity and smooth enough to pour a second glass. I also love that its made with organic grapes and contains fewer sulfites. This is my go-to red wine choice to pair with red meats and Italian dishes!

  • Taste: Oaky with notes of black cherries and vanilla
  • Pairings: Steak, Burgers, lamb, spaghetti & meatballs, aged cheddar cheese

This wine is yummy and a hit with my friends as well. Let it sit in the glass or decant for a smoother finish. On my way to pick up a case at Trader Joes where it flies off the shelf!-Vivino reviewer

Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon $12

This wine is my #1 go-to red wine from Trader Joes! Its organic which usually tends to make me feel better the next day. I always have a bottle of Bonterra at home for those nights I just need a drink. Its also a great wine and price point to take to a party or when you have friends over! Its what I bring every Monday night for our weekly girls night.

Trader Joes Petit Reserve Sauvignon Blanc

Im not usually a fan of Sauvignon Blanc because it often tastes too watery and lacks flavor, in my experience. However, Trader Joes 2018 Petit Reserve is quite the opposite and came highly recommended by a Trader Joes wine connoisseur.

Its still a very light wine, but the crisp grapefruit flavor is noticeable right away. It also tastes lower in alcohol, making it pretty easy to drink more of. Like all wine, this blend is an acquired taste but if youre in the mood for something subtle and citrusy, this is a great option, especially during summertime.

  • Taste: Crisp and clean with subtle grapefruit and citrus flavors
  • Pairings: Flaky fish, dark vegetables, creamy cheeses

This is really good Sauvignon blanc from Trader Joes! Slightly sweet, very crisp, bubbly. Flavors of pear. Tart also. Would be perfect for the summer! Vivino reviewer

Villa Antica Asolo Prosecco Docg Superiore

In this wine, a slightly tart note is complemented by deep, concentrated fruit resulting in a flavor resembling underripe green apples. That depth forces the CO2 to do work in this Prosecco, giving the mouthfeel an even balance between bubbles and grip. As the fizz settles, an orange blossom aroma pops up into the senses. Worst: Charles Shaw Chardonnay Organic From Trader Joe’s

Organic Wine Brands Trader Joe

We are all for organic wines. Treating the earth kindly is a great thing and something more winemakers should be doing. Charles Shaw is actually very good about this and has an entire line of organic varieties of many of their wines. They’re also uniquely passionate about how easy it is to open said wines they even have a specially designed cork. If you’ve ever tried to fish out a cork with a knife and gumption, you’d appreciate this feature. However, all the brownie points in the world couldn’t quite save Charles Shaw’s Chardonnay Organic. Sorry.

Chardonnays are known for a distinct flavor, and while Charles Shaw’s organic offering may open up with exactly that, it quickly falls flat and leaves an unpleasant taste on your tongue. Shaw claims that their Chardonnay has a light body, but considering how quickly the flavor dies in your mouth, it may be too light. We may even say the initial taste is too bold, too intense. It’s like this bottle is screaming “I am Chardonnay!” at you. Calm down, we hear you. We just don’t like you.

Vegan Wines At Trader Joes

Reviewing $5 Trader Joe’s Wine

Trader Joes is great at listing whats vegan and whats not. Well, that is until you decide to grab a bottle of wine. When it comes to wine Trader Joes is like any other grocery store impossible to work out if the wine you are buying is vegan or not. This is because currently wine manufacturers are not required to list on their labels ingredients or allergen information. If you want to learn more about why most wines are not vegan and the currently labeling rules I set these all out in my piece Why Is Wine Not Vegan How To Know The Truth, and Is Champagne Vegan? At the top spot can be none other than two buck chuck how we love you. Officially called Charles Shaw, but affectionately known as Two Buck Chuck because of its affordability, this wine may no longer cost $2 but it is a great price still never-the-less . This must be the most budget-friendly vegan red wine out there I love the Cabernet Sauvignon. It is dry and oaky with berry and vanilla notes. I personally am not so keen on Malbec.

Is all Trader Joes Charles Shaw Wine Vegan? According to Barnivore Trader Joes Charles Shaw red wines are vegan but Charles Shaws white wines are not always as they are sometimes filtered with gelatine.

Vegan Food Pairing Suggestion as this is a simple everyday table wine, I think it is so perfect for pairing with a simple pasta marinara. Or alternatively, a vegan spaghetti bolognese made with a plant-based mince.

Honey Moon Viognier 750 Ml $699
