December 31, 2021 – New Year’s Eve Reds : 15 minute decant with a run through the Vinturi. A quite good Cali cab that suffered with tough comparisons. Enjoyable red fruits, some minerals, crisp acidity, supple tannins. No flaws just not at the level of others. I don’t see it improvng from here but could hold at this level for 4-5 years.

May 3, 2022 – A long time favorite and last drank this vintage nearly 3 years ago. I’m slowly gaining some cellar patience. Drinking wonderfully. Smooth, the prominent oak flavor this wine has is still there but more integrated and tamed. Blackberry, leather, black cherry, tobacco, blackcurrant, chocolate, and blueberry. Last bottle so time to buy more and start the patient wait once again, or buy an aged one at auction.

We were a back up offer and other deal worked out. Michelle and her husband started to have second thoughts about the home because of interest rates going up. Even if the first offer did not work, I think the Alinos would have changed their minds.

Silver Oak Napa Valley
Silver Oak was started in 1972 with a simple driving philosophy – to focus production on only one varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon. What’s more, they resolved to create a wine with a style all its own: not another hard, tannic red wine requiring years of aging to enjoy, but a wine of fully developed flavors and a velvety soft texture on the day it is released for sale.
Silver Oak produces Cabernet Sauvignon from two appellations. Their Napa Valley derives its fruit from both owned and contracted vineyards, and is produced entirely at their Oakville winery. Beginning in 1994, small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot have been included in their Napa blend to add complexity and softness.
Silver Oak also produces stellar Cabernet from their Alexander Valley vineyards. A critical reason for the success of this wine, and every wine they make, has always been that they create the final blend before aging it in American oak barrels and then bottles. Over the course of four-and-a-half years, the wines flavors, aromas, and textures have an opportunity to meld with one another and the woods delicate qualities to create the kind of graceful cohesion found only in the world’s most elegant wines.

This dealership is dishonest. Their advertised prices are complete lies. They will not sell you a car at their advertised price, as they add so-called theft protection and other useless add-ons for $3000. These add-ons are not disclosed anywhere on their many used car advertising sites, nor in-person prior to completing the purchase. In my case, this was on a car listed just under $6000 on Edmunds, their own website, and many other used car websites. I wasted more than 2 hours driving there and back, plus test driving the car, before they disclosed their true offered price. Avoid this place, do not do business with them.
