River Road Chardonnay Sonoma County

River Road Family Vineyards and Winery, Unoaked Chardonnay 2020, California

Tasting Note: An unoaked chardonnay with lots of welcome texture and ripe, summer fruit.

Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of fresh green apple, gooseberry, white peach, blossom and lemon zest.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied chardonnay has medium-plus-intensity, orchard-fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with hints of black tea which suggests some of the fruit was whole-cluster fermented.

There are notes of complexity along the midpalate supported by medium acidity and ultimately completing with a medium-plush finish.

The kind of affordable, unoaked chardonnay that could easily become a staple in your cellar and that guests will love.
