Making A Wrapped Bottle Tube

  • 1Buy a cardboard tube and plugs. These can be bought at most office supply stores, shipping stores, and through the postal service. The width of bottles will vary, but most will fit into tubes that are 3 inches to 4.25 inches wide.XResearch source
  • 2Measure and cut your cardboard tube. Slide your bottle into the tube. Mark the board about an inch above the top of the bottle. Remove the bottle, then use sturdy scissors, a utility knife, or shears to cut away excess cardboard at the mark.
  • Sturdy cardboard tubes might require a handsaw to cut. Use caution when cutting.XResearch source
  • 3Insert and fasten the bottom cardboard plug. Press the plug into place at the bottom end of the tube. Use tape to fasten the outside of the plug. This will reinforce the bottom of the container so the bottle doesnt fall out.
  • Some plugs may be difficult to insert. You may need to knock the plug against a hard surface, like a desk top, before it pops into the end.
  • 4Cover the tube in wrapping paper. Fasten the end of your wrapping paper to the tube with two-sided tape. Roll the tube in the paper until it is tightly covered. Use two-sided tape to connect the paper where it overlaps slightly.XResearch source
  • 5Cut away excess paper and insert the bottle. Any wrapping paper sticking out from the top or bottom of the tube can be cut free. Insert the bottle into the tube. Add a second tube plug at the top of the tube your bottles almost ready to be given as a gift.

    Make A Charcuterie Board

Its not exactly wrapping, but one of our favorite ways to gift wine is with a festive charcuterie board. This gives you the ability to make your wine selection stand out with personalized items for the individual youre giving the gift to.

Here are some suggestions of items to include:

    • BaguetteAdd a baguette or other style of bread that is a similar length to the wine bottle.
    • CheeseSelect one or two types of cheeses to add to the display. Make sure they are wrapped in clear plastic or are able to be wrapped in a wax-coated cheese paper and placed on the board.
    • Cheese boardMake sure the cheese board you purchase is the same size or larger than the wine bottle. The cheese board also needs to be sturdy enough to hold the items you decide to place on it. Extra points if your cheese board comes with a cheese knife!

How Do You Wrap A Wine Bottle With Tissue Paper

20 CREATIVE WINE BOTTLE WRAPPING WAYS TO IMPRESS YOUR ...

Wrapping a wine bottle with tissue paper has a beautiful and soft finish. It can also be very delicate and so you must ensure there are no wet areas on your wrapping surface. As mentioned above, it is also a great eco-friendly alternative to wrapping paper. It contains no plastic, and you still get a variety of colors and patterns.

There are also options where you can add a sparkly cellophane material over the outside to protect your tissue paper. These work well and add a little extra pizzazz to the look of your gift. It is your choice whether you think this is necessary.

Select your tissue paper. Much like the diagonal method explained above, it is also a good idea to choose colors here for contrast. Once you have chosen your tissue paper, ensure you have at least six or seven layers of sheets for stability. This will prevent any tears from happening. You also dont want to go too thick as the wrapping will become stiffer, making it difficult to wrap your bottle.

Once you have selected your tissue paper, place it down on a clean, dry even surface. Take your bottle of wine and position it so the base is in line with one of the corners of the tissue paper. Fold up the corner so it covers the base of the bottle. Then gently take the two sides and wrap one over the other to cover the body of the bottle. Use a piece of tape to secure.
