Bread and Butter Chardonnay Review

Thats Santa Barbara.

The greatest attribute of Sideways is that it promoted Pinot Noir, which became very popular because of the movie.

The region of Santa Barbara offers a great variety of unique tasting options with over 120 different wineries to choose from. This region is off-the-beaten-track, but should not be underestimated. Sideways drew much-needed attention to this region and all that it has to offer.

Which Wine Regions Are In California

From North to South, the main regions are Mendocino, Lake, Napa Valley, Sonoma, Livermore Valley, Lodi, Sierra Foothills, Santa Cruz Mountains, Monterey, Paso Robles and Santa Barbara.

California is a vast region that consists of several smaller wine-producing areas. Although Napa Valley and Sonoma are what California is most known for, the states other regions produce equally outstanding wines.

Napa Valley and Paso Robles are renowned for the bold reds of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel, as well as the scenic wine route which offers unique experiences to wine lovers. On the contrary, Santa Barbara and The Russian River Valley, with conditions more suited to delicate grapes, produce outstanding expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Each of these regions offers a unique take on the wines of California allowing for a greater expression and experience of what the Golden State can truly offer.

Bread & Butter Chardonnay Food Pairing

Bread & Butter Chardonnay is a wine to reach for when the weather turns a little cooler and the evenings bring a touch of frost. This rich and creamy Chardonnay will match perfectly with dishes containing a buttery sauce, such as pasta or seafood.

But you dont have to stop there. Warm, creamy vegetable soups will harmonize effortlessly with this wine, as will the likes of winter vegetables in a creamy sauce or baked chicken with delicate tarragon or sage. Seafood pasta is another range of dishes that will happily open their hearts to this wine. And, if you are considering snacks on a cold winters night by the fire, try this Chardonnay with buttered popcorn.

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Enticing aromas of cocoa, mocha, and juicy blackberries intrigue the senses and jump out of the glass with this beautiful, dark Cabernet Sauvignon. While flavors of black cherry, cassis, plum, and savory baking spices delight the palate, the soft, rich mouthfeel and supple tannins carry through to a lengthy finish. Bold andelegant, this wine is perfect for all occasions.

Vineyards located on the mountains, including the distinguished Atlas Peak and Howell Mountain, bring bright acidity, rich tannins and powerful berry, cherry and herbaceous notes. The Rutherford fruit imparts intense cherry, cassis and violet notes, along with crisp acidity and firm tannins. The vineyards on the more fertile valley floor provide ripe, juicy fruit notes and fleshy tannins.

Bread & Butter California Chardonnay 2019

As its counterpart below, this is a California wine rather than any smaller AVA, so the grapes were probably sourced from several regions and blended together.

It pours a light gold in the glass, giving an indication that this is going to be a dessert wine , an aged wine or an oaked wine And so the nose reveals: layers of vanilla and buttery toast with hints of lemon and orange. The palate is exactly how you would expect a California Chardonnay to be: lemon curd, pineapple cubes and lots of creamy texture, though not the full on butter churn experience.

While its far from subtle, I really like this wine. At this price point many Chardonnays are unoaked for both cost and stylistic reasons, and those that have seen some oak can be disjointed or seem confected. And Im not alone I have heard several wine drinkers make a beeline for this wine and declare it their new favourite.

How To Serve Bread & Butter Chardonnay

As a white wine, Bread & Butter Chardonnay must be chilled before serving. Changing the temperature of wine always needs to be done slowly. So, popping the bottle of Chardonnay in the freezer to chill it when your guests are knocking on the door, is not going to score you many points. So, a little planning is required.

If you really are short of time, then half an hour in an ice water bath will suffice, but an hour in the refrigerator will be far better. The shape of the glass is going to play a role in your enjoyment of the wine. A glass with a narrow bowl will accentuate the oakiness, which some may find less appealing. Chardonnay glasses need more room. The rounded bowl and wider mouth allow the different layers and aromas of the wine to be more easily appreciated.

How Is Bread & Butter Chardonnay Made

Bread & Butter Chardonnay is made from one hundred percent Chardonnay grapes. The grapes are, however, sourced from two distinct regions and the blending of these two ingredients creates a perfectly balanced wine. Expert wine-making skills match the boldness of the grapes from the Carneros region with the more subdued and subtle grapes from the Arroyo Seco region.

The big flavors of the grapes from the Carneros region are fermented in one-year-old American oak barrels for four months. Meanwhile, the Arroyo Seco grapes enjoy an eight-month sojourn in new French oak. This produces a wine with light woodiness and a delicate creaminess.

What Kind Of Wine Is Bread & Butter Chardonnay

Bread & Butter Chardonnay is an oak matured white with a delectable balance of flavors. The bread part of the wine originates in the infusion of flavor from the oak barrels, while the buttery quality is caused by malolactic fermentation. Once the golden hue has filled the glass and the wine begins to breathe, butterscotch together with a tinge of lemongrass beckons. Vanilla flavors take over and are gently nudged aside by a rich peach finale.

The wine is the result of a complex combination of different oaks, namely American, Eastern European, and French. Together, they create a creaminess and a touch of spice. The two wines that form this mighty Chardonnay come from the Monterey region and the Carneros area. The former supplying the boldness and the latter providing more subtle undertones. Bread & Butter Chardonnay reviews highlight the dual quality of freshness and creamy decadence of the wine.

Bread & Butter California Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Bread & Butter: Pinot Noir Wine Review!!

The Cabernet Sauvignon actually poured a little lighter than I expected, though were still not talking Poulsard here. The nose is heady, with ripe cassis and blackcurrant*, blueberry, vanilla and toast oak notes. The palate is rich and velvety, with blackcurrant and cocoa to the fore. Tannins are very restrained indeed this is no Pauillac facsimile. The finish has some residual sugar I couldnt find a tech sheet but I noted that Decanter included it within the Medium Dry, 5 18 g/L category. The sugar comes through as richness more than sweetness, especially to the untrained palate. This is the type of red than many drinkers go mad for at the moment its not a wine I would choose for myself unless I was eating barbecue with a sweet marinade, and then it would be quaffed with extreme prejudice.
