Beringer Bros Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Have a seat, youre in for a treat! Beringer did some amazing wine making here. This Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 was a surprise before, during and after dinner. And at $20 why not try it for yourself?

My first smell and taste were of oak, blackberries and something sweetly intriguingtoasted coconut. This made for a yummy dinners cookin sipper and I was excited to see how it paired with our food.

We had some filet mignons and homemade Potatoes Obrien. My Husband created a spicy pepper rub for the steaks and added some diced habaneros to the perfectly salted potatoes. It was pretty kicky! But, the spice of the pepper and habaneros were balanced wonderfully by the wine.

This Cab completed the trifecta of spicy, salty and sweet. Now, Im not talking sweet like a port. But a complementary nip to ease my taste buds.

With dinner done and one glass left I was able once again focus on the wine alone. I took another deep sniff and took my time with another taste. I was now picking up on the chocolate and toffee. What a delicious way to end a delicious dinner! There was no need for a sweet dessert because this Cab was the icing on the cake.
